Hi Katie, I am downsizing to make my life simpler. I got rid of a lot of excess Christmas decorations and only kept what I will use. What I am keeping is in clear plastic containers and is labeled. It feels so good to get rid of too much stuff! Your next house will be smaller with less storage so you have incentive to purge. You guys are so real dealing with challenges of everyday people! Always look forward to your videos!

Our entire house 😂 every 6 months or so I go through, declutter, reorganize everything and sell all the things we aren’t using. Even little stuff. And then that’s the money we use for our yearly trip. It’s amazing that we haven’t bought new things but I still find things to sell. Our first baby is due in July so everyone’s calling it nesting but truthfully I just like to declutter and organize

Looks great! I know you said you wanted to hold on to duplicates but wouldn't it be better to just declutter and donate now instead of having to worry about it when you move. Especially if you plan on moving to smaller place with less storage

I thought about that, but I also was thinking I don't want to have to spend any extra money if I'm going to need them at a new house. 🤔 I'm pretty sure we were using most of them before we took down a lot of our personal family stuff. So I'd rather save and make sure in the meantime instead of having to re-buy in a few months.

You did a good job!! Can some of the items go in the garage? Organized of course. Like the galvanized tub. I’d probably still get rid of probably half the items in this closet but of course that’s me! I also put all my wrapping paper/bags/tissue paper in a roll out storage container under our bed in our master. It’s the only thing under the bed, but it’s out of sight! ❤️😝 you’re doing great Katie!

My goal it to go through the whole house this year and really get serious about what I need and what I don't. I clean out sections/closets from time to time and I know how good it feels to have less stuff and a more organized space. But I have tended to keep things that I really don't need. So my goal is to get rid of as much stuff as possible this time around and to make it through the whole house. I have started but I have a ways to go yet. Thankfully my teen daughter is good at helping me get rid of things. :) Thanks for the inspiration to keep it up.

I plan on getting my disability soon, Lord willing, and in the meantime getting an apartment in the projects. I don't have any income but I do have food stamps and medicaid so I could survive. I have some body wash and shampoo and stuff like that saved up from when I was working and did have income. I still have a bunch of stuff still in boxes in my mom's basement from when I moved last summer. Remember me in your prayers.

Something to think about when you want to downsize real estate is important. Plus when people come to visit or a party the don't care about the decor they are coming to see you. Selling and getting rid of things will help ya become closer to your debt free goals. I'm working on 3 rules love it, need it or use it. You can always replace things once ya move.

They are all taking up too much space in closets that should be clean for potential buyers. That kind of stuff is perfect to box up and put away until after the move. And, isn’t this exactly the same stuff or type of stuff that you sorted in a closet last month. How many candles do you really need??

Now it’s organised clutter. The “ does it spark joy “ concept is seriously flawed. Let’s face it, most things that we buy spark joy, but that doesn’t mean we should keep them. A more realistic approach to decluttering is “ do I need it” & “do I use it”.

I am buying wall shelving for our laundry room! I have collected a few pieces(pantry cabinet, island, hall tree) these past few months. So, the shelving will help organize and store things in there and help with the top of that ice box not be so cluttered.

We've been working on our basement. Getting rid of a lot because we never use or look for it. Everything just gets put in the basement and it's become a dumping ground. That's all changing!

Katie you are doing great but get rid of that entire decor closet!! I'm having flashbacks! I had all that crap got rid of it and have had ZERO need for it!! You guys are on a financial mission and don't think you will be having any parties and it is taking money to organize that stuff even if from the dollar store. Just saying; please don't take it personal. Just sharing what we learned we had to cut back on during our financial journey. Closets look great BTW!!! :)
