I love my paper lantern. My dining room had no overhead lighting and no room for a lamp (very small). So I have a plug in and I tried two different shades before I got the paper lantern. It really diffuses the light so nicely.

Yeah when they are on I do love the diffused lighting. I'm sure it is beautiful in the dining room!!!

Agreed on the paper lanterns, it does not always look good. until I can save up for some design pieces I don’t know what else to use. I don’t know where I’ve learned that if you can’t have design, stick to natural materials 🤪

Not me with the exact Hay lantern and jute rug from the thumbnail in the same room 🙈. Honestly I love them though, they look so good and were very affordable. We put a Hue bulb in the rice paper shade and love the glow it gives off, I also love seeing it reflected in our wibdows at night like a giant full moon.

I find dark rooms soothing, the cavern vibe works well with me. But it doesn’t help getting productive 😅 so I stick to white walls and I have dark curtains I close when it’s time to relax

100% with everything. for the rice paper lamps though, i feel like you get what you pay for- and a lot of times people get those really cheap ikea/amazon ones. they are okay if you're on a budget but if you want a high end looking lamp and expect to get it from the IKEA ones, it's just not it. the hay ones look okay but the color is a very stark white, which doesnt work with many interior styles ig- but! you can stain them. or wait 3-4 years for natural sunlight to do its thing. i feel any other sellers in that hay price range also do a really good job with the quality. also you can go for more sculptural rice paper lamps, i have one that is shaped like flat-ish disc in a hexagon shape and it looks great during the day.
