My mother and I were extremely close like you and your mom are. We used to go shopping together frequently and always have the best time. We laughed and and acted silly and bought a bunch of stuff we didn’t need. Seeing you and your sweet mom together reminds me of the many great shopping trips I had with my mommy. It’s been 8 years since she passed away and I still miss her! But watching you two makes me happy and nostalgic. You two are so blessed to have each other.I love your relationship. Make the areas you grasp the handles more worn looking than the top and bottom of each handle. Try and find a gold paint to match what’s already on the furniture. That’s what u use to softly wipe onto the ends of the handles with a slightly damp piece of toweling or dryish brush

I would definitely use rub and buff if you want to keep the recessed parts dark. Polishing will brighten it all. I love the handles!

My Grandmother was skilled in making the mourning flowers for cemetery wreaths. She made all types of flowers and mDe bouquets and my Grandfather made home made large shadowbox for them and when finished he sealed them to keep water out. After 10 days they had to pick flowers up at the cemetary or the workers threw them away. I have always wished that I had learned from her she was so talented.

I vote for the rub and buff. I looked 6 years for the perfect sofa. It had a hardwood frame and 8 way hand tied springs. It was $1000 in 1980 on sale. I had it for 40 years until a flood took it away from me. It looked like the day it was delivered.:(

Hi Sweetie ❤Your Pete is one special man. He reminds me of my Hubby. We have had the hardest years. Most marriages wouldn't have survived. We have been together 34yrs Married 33 in July. My husband is the most patient and problem solving man. He loves me wildly so he puts up with all my crazy ideas. I have decorated our home for almost free. Except labor of picking, fixing moving furniture and picking up huge lots. I would buy to make some money. And keep vintage pieces for free. I used to have 3 flea market booths. My vintage jewelry paid for them some months. Always making money. I love old jewelry, wood boxes,compacts, linens. Lace. Artwork. SOLID WOOD FURNITURE. I closed my booths 7yrs ago when we moved my Sweet Momma in. She couldn't stay at her home any longer safely because of Dementia. I donated many things from booths. Sold most of the shelving. Stored my totes n totes of jewelry, things I knew was timeless. I am getting ready to start selling again. But 1st I am having a huge yard sale here in May. The selling platforms has changed so much in 7yrs. My Daddy worked at auctions so I cut my teeth on the art of buying and selling. I get charged finding the perfect thing. And others have had me search. But my health has never been good. And caring for Momma and my Sissy who went to Heaven 3wks apart 20mths ago took it's toll on hubby n I both. We both got Covid 4mths after our losses. In the last 2yrs we have said Goodbye to way to many loved ones. But I am trying to find my way. And You are in INSPIRATION. Milly n Toby are so Adorable. I lost my hairy son December 29th 2022. He was a rescue found in a crate A below zero January night 13yrs ago. I couldn't believe someone on purpose left this baby. I took him in nobody came back for him. So I did. ❤️ Cooper Walton. he was my Hairy Son the reason I got out of bed after Mom n Sis passed. He left a gaping hole and his passing brought up grief that I buried and hadn't dealt with. Hubby was worried for me and bought me a puppy He is a teeny tiny Yorkshire Terrier. He is 3mths we have had him 5wks now. Chewbacca Auggie aka Chewie (hubby got to pick his 1st name😂)He has me on my toes but I needed him. Everyone said you gave Cooper Walton an amazing life. But we rescued each other. Be Kind for you never know when you are entertaining Angels UNAWARE. P.S. Sorry I am long winded. And I never dreamed Oregon was so Beautiful 🌺 Missouri is very beautiful too. I guess there is beauty everywhere. You just have to see it with fresh eyes to enjoy it. I love flowers and fresh veggies Yummy 😋

I advocate for polishing. Use a jewelers Rouge cloth. It will look more golden, but not bright.
