After 3 years mine are working great. Bought them at Costco. Installed myself. Its very easy. I have a steep roof so needed to put a bend in the screen. This does allow some debris to accumulate but not much. On the south side I have a western red cedar that is always dumping something. I clean that about once a year with a brush from the ground the biggest issues is inside corners. My cedar dumps so much debris I have to clean that one inside corner almost monthly during the winter. takes about 5 minutes which includes pulling out the step ladder but that is still much less work than having to clean the 200 feet of gutter twice a year. Installation is about 4 minutes per straight section and 10 minutes per corner section. A cut off tool works much better than a sheet metal shears.

"You won't get a heavier rain than this" yes you will. Rain hits your entire roof at once, then accumulates as it runs down. I have used gutter guards on all my houses and they work great....but that was a stupid thing to say. And yes, needles do sometimes get stuck from my many pine trees, but the needles dry and break off in the next wind storm, but I don't have anymore maple trees growing out of my gutters or leaves clogging the gutters.

I put Home Depot stainless steel micromesh Gutter Guards by Gutterglove on my home about a year ago. If you have a one story home it is a cake walk to put them on. I installed mine using a step ladder. Gutterglove is a great company and will offer you the best customer service there is. They have a great video on how to install the gutter guards also on KZbin. Also, you will get a great instruction booklet with your order. I was able to install almost all of mine with the one side under the shingles. The self tapping screws which i choose to use works great. It is a big cost savings if you do them yourself. I only did the gutters where there are problem areas with leaves. I did not see any reason for installing them where there is never a problem like my garage was. Gutterglove gave me a free gutter broom to clean my gutter guards if it was ever needed. Now that I am older I do not have any worries with gutter stoppages! A great warranty too.

Will redwood pollen get through there
@joelabore32823 жыл бұрын
I have a very large western red cedar that dumps everything onto my roof. I don't think the pollen gets through. If it does it isn't much. Once the screens are up the only way to check is unscrew or unstick and peel it up. I had to do this on one section after three years and the gutters were very clean. The pollen size is very similar for the two. 25-35 micrometers. I still brush off the screens once or twice a year due to the grit from the shingles. The Biggest problem is inside corners. Thankfully I only have one. I have to clean that six inch area about once a month due to large amounts of debris and gravel accumulating. Still much easier than cleaning all of my gutters twice a year with a shop vac which took about an hour.

Pete, I don't think it[s that much of a big whoop if folk were able to go hands free for a few years and not have to manage the gutter system. I actually think that if the system works like it's supposed to, on (maybe) the 3 yr mark, then it's time to flush the muck from the system and folk could flush the whole run with some pwr wash push toward the drain to flush the grimy stuff. Right? I mean, it's not reasonable for us to expect that we'll never have to handle our gutters after we install and improvement, correct, Sir?

I clean gutters for a living. Mesh gutter guards do absolutely nothing
@headdownharris6 жыл бұрын
@@EnemyBorat so mesh gutter guards don't keep leaves out? I disagree. Obviously sediment is going to accumulate and the gutters will have to be cleaned eventually but if you live in a heavily wooded area you're not going to have to get up and clean the gutters on a monthly basis if you're using gutter guards so they absolutely "do something" quite beneficial.
@EnemyBorat6 жыл бұрын
@@headdownharris they do keep leaves out, but leaves aren't the only thing that goes into gutters. Shingle grit goes right through the mesh, accumulates in the middle if the gutter run and stops the flow of water. The more shingle grit that accumulates the heavier it gets which then starts to pull the guttering away from the house. Helicopters get stuck in the mesh and make the guttering look like crap, sticks get caught on the guard lip and stop things from falling off or through. Yeah..gutter guards are a waste of money. Guards give homeowners the impression that nothing needs to be done once they go on when in hindsight it just makes more work for the next season
@terrythomas7905 жыл бұрын
I bought t $2 each vinyl with mesh. I overlapped the ends about an inch. NO freaking screwing either. just clip on the gutter edge and tuck the other side under the shingles. They stay in place, and all leaves and sticks dont go past them. But, just like this overpriced crap, fine particles will get thru, so either system will have you cleaning the gutters,especially at the downspout ends, eventually. With this system in the video, all you are doing with the brush on a stick is forcing more crap into the mini holes! The people who fail using the ones I use, just dont know how to do things properly.
