They sure do make up feel every emotion we have, which is a good thing. Thus song brought out all of the memories with my mom and dad (who are no longer with us). I feel it can be about whatever you want it to be. A relationship, parents, kids, animals or friends. Thanks Dan

Thinkig too it was about a breakup, sad, gentle, sensitive, everything I expect from HF... when the headstone appeared I broke, litteraly. It's years I lost my dog, but I will always miss her. There are people who would not understand how deep a relationship with your pet can go and somehow I feel sorry for them as they miss so much.

I lost my boy Jack back in 2019, and still miss him so much !!! This is such a loving song, sad but it's a very real feeling. 2019 was the saddest Christmas for me since my Mother-in-Law had passed in 2015....yes I loved Sophia, and I was her son, as she treated me that way all of my married years & as a widower as well.

It's ok to have the feels man animals have a way to connect with us and when I hear anyone say they are just pets and are just animals that really ticks me off these are our friends and family members .

I’ve said goodbye to many people over the years; parents, sister, husband, dear friends and 2 sons. My relationships with my cat and dogs helped sustain me and fill deep holes in my life. And when they’ve crossed the rainbow bridge, I’ve grieved as hard in my own way for my four footed family as the precious humans who are no longer here. It all matters. And I bawled like a baby the first time I watched this video

Thank you for your honest reaction!! I appreciate it. I think it strengthens the connections. I lost my cat of 17 years early this fall and I know my household routines are completely different because of it. Our pets are family and I feel sad for folks who don’t experience having a non-human companion. We all walk into it knowing we will very likely live beyond their years but we will do right by them to the end!!

The song can be about any loved one that you've lost at the holidays. It gets to me because I lost my wife of 21 years. The holidays aren't the same.

A good twist. If you watch Home Free video's they show their pets a lot. As the saying goes in movies.....as long as the dog lives. My dog is 13 and I know this is around the corner and try not to think of it..😔 But it applies to anyone human or pet. This was from an earlier album. Just first time having a video put to the words. Doesn't matter if a person loses another human or their fur baby. It still hurts. You had the honest emotion that I think most of us felt the first time (heck every time) we watch this video.

The first time I watched this, I was sad throughout the song because my husband died 5 yrs ago and it still hurts, but when it got to Biscuit, I bawled my eyes out. I had just lost our golden retriever this year and, like you, he has kept me going. SO... Definitely understand how you feel.

There are a few people that I miss, especially during what I call The Lonely Season, but it's my 16yr old dog, who was killed 14yrs ago, that I hurt for the most. Pets just hold your heart. I've had a couple of other beautiful dogs since, but if you're lucky, there comes that very special animal

That's OK, Dan! We all cried when we found out he'd lost his fur baby & I'm crying with you now! So have many other reactors when they realized it was his doggy! As I've said many times, I've lost so many people & pets that there are so many holes in my heart, I'm surprised it still works! All the pets had unique personalities & can never REALLY be replaced! It's just that others can help fill the void! Pets love us unconditionally, unlike people! They don't care if we're fat or skinny, beautiful or ugly, rich or poor (as long as we can afford to feed them)! I hope you guys & Harley have a beautiful Christmas & I pray that we ALL have a much Happier New Year!🤗👼🎄🌟

Thank you for reacting to this song. I understand how hard a loss can be. Lost my husband to cancer. You still have the pain no matter how it happens. It will be OK it just takes a long time. Talk to your lady and tell her you are feeling down. She will help. Have Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Whoa! I hope you recovered from your reaction not long after you finished this one! I know many people, including myself, were affected by this video. It’s so true what you said about cats. Some people feel that way about them; that they’re cold or aloof, but they’re not! At least all of the cats we’ve had through the years. We lost 2 of the 3 cats we had this year. The last one we lost, we’d had her for almost 18 years. She and I were very close and she slept by me every night. When this video came out and I saw the headstone in the yard I knew it was for a pet. I lost it and sobbed like crazy! Then I cried happy tears when I saw the new puppy. I’m so glad you have Harley and Kathryn (sorry if I didn’t spell that right). I’d say I enjoyed your reaction, but I won’t. I’ll just say I was touched by it. I appreciate when people can be honest with their emotions/reactions and share with us. You could have edited that part out, but you didn’t. Cat's are any thing but cold, I have 15 inside 6 of which are laying on me, I seldom have alone time. Yes I KNOW they are the reason I keep going. Dan I'm 72 got my first dog at age 1. So I know about losing them. It hurts badly. But I was told you lose one cause it's time to give a loving home to another that needs one. That your heart expanse to make room for each one.
