I love this original song by Home Free. Nice to see them doing it with another great group Texas Hill. The Home Free guys are very generous in helping other artists to get some exposure. They are very humble guys with no egos. And you are right, Adam's vocal percussion & Tim's bass really ground this group & makes their sound special.

Home Free and Texas Hill released 'Go Tell It On the Mountain' around Christmas, and it was fantastic! Both the guitarist and pianist are SO good! All the members of TH competed and did well on either American Idol or The Voice. In fact, the lead singer (white hat) won the Voice a few years ago.

This original song was released by HOME FREE with a terrific video and now they are doing a cover of it with TEXAS HILL WOO HOO! . Texas Hill is country group consisting of 3 instrumentalists, which are Craig Wayne Boyd, winner of season 7 of The Voice, Casey James., 3rd place finalist on American Idol in the 9th season and Adam Wakefield, the ruunner up on season 10 of The Voice.

I just love this song & it's video - the singing, the message behind it. I can't understand why this isn't on constant rotation on the radio.

Thanks for explaining about instrument vs singers. I'd never thought of it that way. I agree that the way they layered in during the introductions was awesome. And Adam has dedicated himself to his craft by actually learning different instruments so that he doesn't put things where they don't belong. But then he'll add some crazy sound that shouldn't work, but totally fits! I love that Home Free uses their platform to help promote other artists. And they don't keep all the juicy bits for themselves. Many times they showcase the other act which makes Home Free a class act! Every comment I've ever read about people who have actually met the guys said they are absolutely wonderful people. I've never seen a bad comment about them! Thank you for another wonderful reaction! ❤

Home Free has two other videos of this song. One from the Ryman without Texas Hilll and the original from Dive Bar Saints. On the live version Tim Foust announced that Texas Hill took the time to learn this song and join Home Free o stage to sing this with them. I agree HF does alot to bring out and help new singers get ahead I had never heard of Texas Hill until HF started to work with them.

This is an original by Home Free. They pay homage to the country artists that came before them. They changed it up a little since the had Texas Hill join them on some of their concerts

Thank you for a great reaction. Home Free and Texas Hill got together after Tim went to a concert with a friend and was impressed with Texas Hill's music. Next thing you know they have done 2 songs together and Texas Hill has sung at a few of HF's concerts. TH have some very good music out there.

I am so happy you talked about how important it is for the percussionist and bass to be in sync. It's something we long-time fries use to talk about a lot. We always called Tim and Adam team Rythmn. Not sure how or why we stopped. It's something I rarely see any longer. So I was so happy you brought it up. Thanks for another great reaction.

Texas Hill are all finalists from the Voice or American Idol, who met and decided to create a country super-group - they're just starting out together, but they're both seriously talented and seem like great guys - so they fit in well with Home Free. :-) This was filmed at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, known as the Mother Church of country music, at least partly because the building was originally built as a chapel. Great to see you reacting to this, and having fun with this HF original.

I just have to tell you that I love your reactions. I love some of the other folks that do reactions, but your comments on the music itself are spot on. I have never seen anyone else pause and explain things like how the aperture of the mouth can change the sounds that are released and “the rub”, the very slight dissonance that can occur when the singers aren’t spot on (which, as we all know, never happens with Home Free). You have obviously had a great musical education in order to not only hear that, but to be able to explain it to folks who haven’t had any musical education and just love the music. And we all love the music! Home Free is definitely a one-of-a-kind vocal group, and they are so generous to other groups that they collaborate with. They integrate their sound with another group’s sound so well, never using the others as just “backup.” A prime example of that is their collab with The Oak Ridge Boys on their top hit from the seventies, “Elvira.” The OBs have been a great influence on our HF boys, along with Alabama and The Statler Brothers, vocally and harmonically. Check out that collab - you will be blown away both by the layers of harmony and the obvious mutual respect that these two groups have for each other (OB has been a sort of mentor to HF). Great job! Back to the beginning of my ramblings - love your comments and reactions. Keep it up!

Okay you keep saying that Adam (beatboxer) and Tim (bass) have to be locked in with each other, that the drummer and bass have to be locked in together on an arrangement BUT in the case of HF wouldn't Tim AND Chance have to be locked in with Adam because when one is singing lead the other is singing bass and often times in their songs they're switching back and forth between lead and bass. Wouldn't that be even harder than a drummer and bass player in a regular band being locked in together.
