Hey, welcome to Home Free !!! They are an amazing acapella group. The lead was Tim Foust, who is the usual basso profundo, but has 5 octave range & he was in his baritone range for sure. He has been known to blowout speakers at Concerta 👍😉. Some suggestions - The Driver, a cover of Listen to the Music, it's an amazing Doobie Brothers cover...and an original, DIVE BAR SAINTS.

I think these guys did a great cover of Randy Travis' song especially with Tim taking the lead. What I love about Home Free is how respectful they are of the original song without adding unnecessary things. No theatrics or bass drops. Just beautiful singing & harmonies with Adam adding his special touch. I thought it was cute when Tim sung about hair turning grey & he looked up at his own hair. You really need to listen to some of their other songs. They have a huge catalogue. They can have a lot of fun & can be goofballs. This was just a serious song. Check out "Hillbilly Bone", "The Butt's Remix", "All About The Bass" etc. to see another side of them.

You have just found the best acappella vocal group imo and there are some other very good groups. What you called formal look was just for this song only. They change up their styles based on the song but they usually do a very informal style. They sing many different genres from soul, R&B, rock, country, inspirational/gospel to comedic/silly songs. Some songs to think about are: WHEN A MAN LOVES A WOMAN a cover of Percy Sledge, END OF THE ROAD a cover of Boyz2Men, LISTEN TO THE MUSIC a cover of Doobie Brothers. TAKE ME HOME COUNTRY ROADS a cover of John Denver, GO REST HIGH ON THAT MOUNTAIN a cover of Vince Gill, AMAZING GRACE, CHAMPAGNE TASTE ON A BEER BUDGET a Home Free original. Thank you for reacting to Home Free and you have a blessed day.

Everyone in the group can be the lead. The beatboxer, Adam Rupp, is a world class beatboxer. The low tenor, Rob Lunquist, has the glasses. The lead on this song was Tim Faust, who has a 5 octave range. The red headed guy was Austin Brown, who is the high tenor. Finally there is Adam Chance the baritone, who carried the bass in this song. As for loosening up listen to "Champagne Taste On A Beer Budget". Written by Tim Faust. Also try "Brothers In Arms.

Hello, Juliet. Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Home Free. Funny you should mention a steel guitar, Adam Rupp is a world class percussionist/beatboxer that has so many sounds that nobody can keep up with. Some swear that he chewed on drumsticks and symbols as a child. Plus, he can mimic a harmonica that you can't tell from a real one. Adam Chance, the baritone/bass can mimic a southern jaw harp or (Jew's harp.) and has a smoky smooth voice. Tim Foust, the lead singer -in this song- is a floor dropping bass with a 5 octave range. Rob Lundquist is an awesome buttery sounding tenor. and Austin Brown has a high forward sounding tenor. Their harmonies as you will find out are impeccable and unmatched. They brand themselves as a country A Capella group but they are very versatile in their music choices. New subscriber for more Home Free music. May I suggest "Man of Constant Sorrow." Thanks for the reaction and review.

I followed Randy Travis' career and even was able to attend a concert to hear him live. What a great vocalist. Home Free pay homage to him in spades with this effort. And the lyrics are timeless and crossover to many generations and touch our relational emotions and Home Free brings that to the forefront once again. I know Tim has the lead and does a remarkable job as always when he does and he certainly shined. However, everyone else caused a platform to hi-lite his effort superbly. As mentioned Adam Rupp just brings the percussion to life that is impeccably spot on. Adam Chance delivers the bass line that is like how do we have two basses that good that can interchange like no other group I know (Wow). Then Rob and Austin add whip cream and cherries on top of this spectacular dessert. They all can do what is needed and it just melds together like no other group. The only thing you can predict is that their presentation/production is always amazing. 🎨🎡🎢🎪🎈🎁🕶🎞🧨😀❣

Welcome to the world of Home Free. The fans are called Home Fries. The guys switch lead a lot depending on the song. In this case Tim Faust the bass singer of the group took the lead but Austin Brown, Rob Lundquist and Adam Chase can all sing lead. Adam Rupp the beatboxer is a tenor when he does sing and harmonize with the other guys. They cover many different genres of music, not just country. Tim's country sound is natural, coming from Texas, Austin is from Georgia, Chance is from Alabama while Rob and Adam Rupp are both from Minnesota. You have just opened the door to what all the Home Fries consider to be the best acapella group out there today. Looking forward to more reactions to Home Free.

Home Free is the best--period. It's easy to forget they are completely acapella and make all "instrumental" sounds themselves. This is one of their simpler arrangements, paying homage to Randy Travis' original. So "simple" yet so fabulous! Love this version by Home Free❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ Some of my Home Free favorites are "Working for a Living", "Good 'Ol Country Harmony", "Land of the Free", "Elvira" (with the Oak Ridge Boys), "Undivided", "Ain't Goin' Down 'Til the Sun Comes Up" (which is not on YT--it's on their official Facebook page) and now "Listen to the Music", "Brother" and "When Will I Be Loved" 😍!

A sweet rendition of the Randy Travis hit. Tim (lead here) is the bass but has a 5 octave range so he was singing in the baritone range. Chance (baseball cap) is the baritone/bass and was doing the bass. Adam (far left) is the amazing beatboxer and Austin (ponytail) and Rob (glasses) are the tenors. They are an amazing group. They can sing any genre and they all take the lead depending on the song. There are some songs where the beatboxer sings too. Try Helplessly Hoping, One Man Band, In the Blood, Brothers in Arms. My Home Free suggestions: Helplessly Hoping - pure vocal magic with 5-part harmonies as the beatboxer (Adam Rupp) brings his beautiful tenor voice to the mix; The Butts Remix - shows their lighter side, these boys do have a wicked sense of humor; Brothers in Arms - shows their most serious side: End of the Road - Yes, they cover R&B beautifully; Man of Constant Sorrow - a good introduction to the group as a whole, no slide guitar, but there is some amazing harmonica; When a Man Loves a Woman - features Austin Brown. Recorded during lockdown, so the television screens. Only Austin in studio singing to his beloved Amberly; and Unchained Melody - doo wop version that pays tribute to the original prison movie theme. I could go on, and on, and on.... Love these guys. So versatile and such amazing voices. And as my Dad would have said, "They're just good people."

I think the word you’re looking for is vocal fry. Tim (Foust , the lead on this one) is from Texas so that country sound comes naturally for him. The group consists of five men: 5 tenors 2-4 baritones At least 2 bass singers And 5 beatboxers, including one freak of nature called Adam Rupp. Fans are still debating whether or not he is in fact human or alien. Rumour has it he swallowed a drum kit as a child. The guys introduce themselves as Adam Rupp - beatboxer Rob Lundquist - tenor Austin Brown - high tenor Adam Chance(goes by Chance) - baritone Tim Foust - bass But all of them have amazing range. Thank you so much for a great reaction to the Home Free Guys. Tim the lead singer of this song, is an amazing bass and then some. You already have a lot of songs requested and you can't go wrong with any of them. Tim didn't have the short hair until about 1 1/2 to 2 years ago. You will find him with the long hair in a majority of the songs. Oh and at times you will see Chris Rupp, the beatboxer's brother, who left the group to go solo. Usually wears a ball cap or cowboy hat. This will be an amazing trip into the rabbit hole. Thanks again.
@AvilaDreamer2 жыл бұрын
Oh, goodness... Probably best to not predict too much about these amazing men until you've watched about 50 more of their performances. They are one of, if not the best and diverse a Capella groups in existence. The "baritone" here (using your word) is Tim Foust, and is one of the deepest resonate basses on the planet - he just happens to have a balanced 5 octave range. In fact, most of the rest of the men in Home Free have 3 1/2 octave ranges (or more). They are not locked into country, though they do country very well. And they are certainly not stiff at all. Their stage presence fits the specific songs they perform. Keep watching and reacting to them. I doubt you will ever be disappointed..

As everybody else already mentioned, the lead singer for this is normally the bass. The group has actually 4 lead singers and they go with the person whose voice fit the song the best, that's why here the bass and bariton were switched. And while this is a nice song, this wouldn't be on the list to intrpduce somebody to the group. I'm sure there will be lots of recs here. If you like country Home Free is a perfect fit, but they cover all genres. They also have some nice originals

Home Free is known for their tight harmonies. They rotate who sings lead depending on the song. You should listen to their version of "Helplessly Hoping" by Crosby, Still and Nash. It could be used to teach the building of chords. Also, no beatboxing...just pure vocal deliciousness. Home Free leans country but sings anything they feel like doing so one time it's a country ballad, next it is sea shanties. Or perhaps a pop song. Or even a little rap in a few songs. Welcome to the rabbit hole of Home Free enjoyment.
@robertpickren40002 жыл бұрын
Juliet, I would like to second Lisa's suggestion for you to review "Helplessly Hoping" for exactly the reasons she mentions (pure vocal performance). It is an amazing demonstration of their vocal skills and would give a vocal coach like you a clear view of their voices. Obviously, you are already being flooded with suggestions for more songs and they have a rich selection to choose from ranging from the very fun/silly to very serious and emotional social commentary. I believe several of their serious songs deserve special handling by reactors in that the message is far more important than the vocal performance. "Everybody Walkin' This Land" and ""Brothers in Arms" fall into this category and I would love to hear your reaction to them as well. Welcome to Home Free and (as they say) "Buckle up Sunshine"!
@beth58702 жыл бұрын
Three of my favorites ( um today anyway lol) are In the Blood, How Great Thou Art, and Take Me Home Country Roads. They have so many fantastic songs- both covers and originals. 🙂 Also, that sort of growls start that Tim does is probably due to him being a bass - he is actually the bass of the group. Adam Chance ( Chance) can take over the bass line since he is a baritone , and used to sing bass in his previous group. It works out really well, and allows them all to lead. Adam Rupp is the beat boxer, and has a beautiful voice, but prefers beat boxing and just singing harmony.

Home Free are a country themed accapella group. They take turns singing lead and You'll be blown away by their ranges. Now, a small warning. I advise you do _not_ react to their cover of 'Mayday' by CAM until you know them a little better. People new to the group that watch that video typically miss what is special about it. Also Tim Foust (the lead singer in this one) has a solo number that is a mashup of 'Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow' and 'Stay'. I also suggest not doing that one until after Mayday. I recommend reacting to their versions of 'Die A Happy Man' and 'In The Blood'

You have yet to fully experience Tim (who you called the lead singer, but who is the primary bass). You should try their video for Ring of Fire, in which Avi Kaplan guest bass battles. They are all top notch singers (including Adam Rupp, the beat-boxer). There are songs featuring each of them except the beat-boxer, but he often does an amazing "drum solo" at their concerts (which does show up on KZbin), Another one that seems to click with new listeners is Man of Constant Sorrow. But get to know them a bit better before you listen to their cover of Mayday.

Hello again and greetings from the Netherlands. Those wonderful voices keep impressing me., About 3 weeks ago, I tried to draw your attention to another stunning voice (in the comments of your 'Daneliya Tuleshova - Skyfall + Toxic mashup' video). I'm talking about Floor Jansen, vocal coach and Dutch singer of Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish. Any idea if and/or when you'll take a listen? I'd love to hear your opinion!

Thank you for reacting to Home Free. This is a nice song, but not one of their better arrangements. I mean, it was really straight forward. There weren't a lot of dynamic changes or even tempo changes. The beatboxing was the same throughout. I highly recommend you listen to "Man of Constant Sorrow" or "Listen to the Music." Lol..if you want to see them informal, check out "Hillbilly Bone", "Summer in the Country", or the "Butt's Remix." Bahahaha.
