The guys in Home Free sing like we all imagine we can sing when we're belting out our favorites in the shower. I really loved the Eagles version back in the day too. But, having said that, Home Free made this their own, much like they do with a lot of the covers they do. Good reaction - have a great day! Thanks!

Great video! You HAVE to hear Foxes and Fossils rendition of Suite: Judy Blue Eyes (Crosby, Stills and Nash) among many others but their version of that song actually drew a rave review from Graham Nash himself. Pretty heady stuff for a little homegrown Georgia outfit!

Home Free cover many songs with the respect of the original. Still, I usually like it better than the original. Because you can have such good voices, it has to reach not only my ears but also my heart and soul. And that is what always succeeds at Home Free. That's why I really love them. 💕Especially with the best but also handsomest beatboxer / vocal percussionist / mouth artist😊💖

I grew up listening to the Eagles music. They were known for their harmonies. I absolutely love this cover by Home Free. Their harmonies are so tight & the best in the business. Adam Rupp their beatboxer vocal percussionist is my favorite. Also like the video showing 7 different bridges in Minneapolis. I am not familiar with the other group. They did a nice job of the song. But I prefer just the 5 male voices of Home Free.

First time ever hearing Foxes & Fossils. Very impressed, I really like it when the mandolin kicked in. This is an older Home Free cover when Chris Rupp (ball cap) was still with them. Thank you for your continued coverage of Home Free and have a blessed day.

@@ModernLifeForThe70sMind Chris Rupp and his brother Adam founded the group in High School in Minnesota in the 2000/2001 time frame. They toured smaller venues and county fairs for awhile. There big break came in 2013 when they auditioned for the accapella version of American Idol called the Sing-off. They won the Sing-off competition which gave them a recording contract with Sony. Pentatonix won the 2012 Sing-off. They reall took off after the win. In 2016 Chris decided to leave the group to do some other projects. He was replaced by Adam Chance. I didn't think I would like Foxes and Fossils version because in my eyes no one can compare to my boys but, I think they did a respectable job with that song. Their base could have been a little stronger but hey no one can hold a candle to our Tim. HomeFrees harmonies are just so tight and perfect and then Adam gluing it altogether with his percussions. He did even lend his voice to the 5 part harmony. I think the real talent is that they sing with no instruments except their amazing voices which can be found on all their songs and simulating the sound of various instruments. Example is a new one they released by Garth Brooks, "Aint Going Down till the Sun Comes Up " . Give it a listen. You will be blown away. Oh it's only on their Facebook page. Thanks for the reaction.😊✌♥️

The Eagles are not the original artist, actually. Steve Young wrote and recorded it in 1969. I found this about a decade or so ago. I am an avid fan of the Eagles and Home Free. It’s a favorite cover from both bands. Foxes & Fossils were really great, as well! I was pleasantly surprised at the cover! I am new to this channel, and will definitely hit the subscribe button after leaving my comments. I love Home Free’s version and won’t say it’s better the the Eagles since they’re both really good. Home Free picked up the tempo on their cover. Adam Rupp really impressed me with his beatboxing with that tempo and those drum sounds! The harmonies from both of these groups you reacted to are stunning. I was a teen in the first half of the 70’s and developed as a fan of the Eagles since my older brother had many albums back then of theirs. I discovered Home Free during their first appearance on the Sing Off in 2013. They’re extremely talented, as you already know.

Home Free kept making music during the quarantine; they filmed themselves at home then sent the footage to their genius producer who put the clips into incredible videos-American Pie ft. Don McLean is one example! Please react to their version of Garth Brooks's Ain't Goin Down-maybe listen to Garth's version before your reaction to hear his rapid-fire delivery then see what HF does with the song. Speaking of quarantine, Sea Shanty Medley and Quarantine were filmed during the quarantine. Quarantine is set to the tune of Billy Joel's Honesty but their lyrics and video is hilarious! Hey Bob, To answer your question, The Eagles version did chart. it peaked at #21 on the Billboard Hot 100. I think I still prefer the original, but all of them are good. I agree with you that both cover versions pay respect to the original, but add just enough to make it their own. I really like the Foxes and Fossils version because of the different dynamic that the female voices bring. Makes me wonder how the Eagles would have sounded if they had a woman singing with them on this song.

I love both versions of this song, but IMHO Home Free is more polished. I used to sing a capella and barbershop and I can hear some differences between the groups. F&F is very good but I think they would benefit from looking at one another to improve on phrasing. I also heard differences in vowel formation, which is critical for forming harmonics. That being said I heard some terrific harmonics from F&F that Home Free doesn't have, probably due to the young women's voices. The father-daughter duet was special too because they have the same timber in their voices. It sounded like just one voice. I think it's in the genes. As I said, love both versions.

F&Fs vocal tracks are recorded separately, then they sing along to the recording to get the group sing video. Of course Home Free isnt singing on bridges in Minneapolis either.

F&F did a nice job, but the voices got hidden behind the instruments when those came in. Also, I thought the F&F were a tiny bit sharp in spots. But they did a nice job. I'm prejudiced, of course, because I am a dedicated Home Fry. Home Free has total respect for the originators of their covers. You should react to their Unchained Melody. Also, Home Free has done several songs with the originators. God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood, Elvira with the Oak Ridge Boys, and more. Each performer feels they have been respected by the group. I don't think it can get better than that.

Home Free's liberal use of auto-tuning ad post-production cleaning strip their sound of anything resembling human emotion or effort. F and F using a basement studio singlemic, and thankfully, dynamic and rich harmonics.....hands down F and F is more enjoyable, and vastly mire authentic, than HF pitch perfect robotics.
