I keep listening to this song over and over again! It’s so satisfying. Every time I hear it, my soul is satisfied. Like literally feel so connected to our Heavenly Father! God gave him that voice! Amazing Grace gave him that voice!

I read from a comment that the date when Patti sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" as tribute for MLK's celebration was on 1986. He said that he watched Patti sing this on his TV when he was in college. He also said that it was like a spiritual awakening for him 🤭 and that he wanted to crawl into the TV to see the perfomance live.

Coke studio's early seasons(especially like 1-7) were always my favorite. there's a lot of gems in there(you can thank Rohail Hyatt, definitely look him up he was at the forefront of Pakistani/Western fusion since the 80s), most reaction channels don't pay much attention to them and go with the most recent ones for the engagement. Great reaction btw

Great reaction Bob! You are one of my very favorite reactors and I have so so missed you reacting to Lucy (and Martha). This was nothing less than stunning! So rich and beautiful. Lucy has the most beautiful voice in the world. I noticed you have been really missing out on Lucy's earlier performances at ages 14, and 15. They often get overlooked, even by the greatest reactors like you. Even at a younger age, Lucy’s voice was already mature beyond her years and absolutely stunning. You absolutely have to play and react to Lucy’s breathtaking performances of: “LISTEN”; kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5eqlmuQadp_jac At only age 14, Lucy had the mature, passionate, and powerful voice of an adult diva. And “I’LL NEVER LOVE AGAIN"; kzbin.info/www/bejne/apiUgqOrbr2Dgpo At only age 15, Lucy’s emotional and powerful performance was even better than the original. And “RUN” kzbin.info/www/bejne/foXRo6xsiJmpncU At only age 15, Lucy’s voice was so rich and powerful; I promise you will be blown away! Hopelessly Addicted in Arizona

Lack of purity for a live performance. Maybe some production/corrections after the fact, or possibly live corrections? Lucy can be a great talent, but something tells me someone is directing her the wrong way. Stay pure no fakery.....PLEASE!!!!!!
@michaelhingley47702 күн бұрын
Not sure what you mean by 'Lack of purity for a live performance', and there is certainly no live correction, although possibly some post note pitch correction by misguided sound engineers. The 400 plus audience at Lucy's concert will not accept that there is any difference whatsoever between her live performance and the videos of the four songs released so far!
@TroyArcAngel2 күн бұрын
@@michaelhingley4770 I wouldn't believe it now. Once you touch that and already did that, I will question everything after. For instance and an example, would you trust a thief to sleep in your house for one night? Obviously an example. Also I can hear the corrections and the layer the software does, and I know not everyone has the ear to distinguish it. Now if it's live or after the fact? I wasn't there so.... Just to clarify, all music videos Lucy has are pitch corrected from top to bottom massively. So....live? I don't know...I just can't believe it. What I'm sure of is that this has some corrections. Either post or live in real time. Yet you may still enjoy vocals that are not pure and raw, almost everyone does nowadays. That's where the industry is heading, for less outcome and more income. Because we are celebrating artists who does it. But sorry I don't want to get in a ramble. God Bless
@michaelhingley47702 күн бұрын
@@TroyArcAngel Your analogy is wide of the mark and disrespectful. If there is one character trait of Lucy's that stands out, it is 'integrity'. There is no fakery involved here - what you get is what you see with this young lady. Your statement that 'all music videos from Lucy are pitch corrected from top to bottom' is woefully inaccurate and I think you are getting carried away with your pet gripes about the state of the music video market now! You are effectively suggesting that all of Lucy's videos are Autotuned, whether live concert or studio versions, and this could not be further from the truth. There is no way in which a mediocre singer can be turned into a great vocalist with Autotune, or even a few pitch corrected notes - and Lucy is a great vocalist! She has, for me, the most beautiful voice I have ever heard - and so your gripe, I suggest, is not with Lucy but with her record label. Lucy signed to Cavendish Records at the age of 14 and will have undoubtedly relinquished editorial control of videos in her contract. Whether this remains the case as her career develops, we will discover in due course. God bless! 😊
@TroyArcAngelКүн бұрын
@@michaelhingley4770 I will not continue to discuss this further with someone who is not being truthful and is blinded. So you are saying that for example Hallelujah is raw vocals with no pitch correction? 😂 Are you afraid to say it? when it's the obvious truth. Sorry to say that you are harming her career by agreeing that this is okay. I believe you get what I mean, how you can harm her career by supporting whatever is released. And again I say it again because it's the truth. All music videos of Lucy are pitch corrected to perfection from top to bottom. I hope someday she gets this from her true fans, and possibly does something, because I know she has talent to be better than this. Just before I leave, I would like to say this, this performance is one of her least that has been tweaked. Because for once I heard her true vocals with no layers. God Bless and take care
@michaelhingley4770Күн бұрын
KkI am not sure you understand the difference between Autotune and manual pitch correction!You throw in the conjecture that, until you hear Lucy singing live, presumably without a mic, that you will not accept that her voice isn't automatically pitch corrected on the fly with either her live concert or studio videos and not just post manually pitch corrected on a note by note basis, as the sound engineers deem fit! Your unfortunate choice of words makes it sound as though this is an automatic process applied indiscriminately to all of her studio and live performance videos - thereby casting doubt on the integrity of both Lucy and Cavendish Records! 😕

Hello Bob, this is another great reaction from you in supporting Lucy singing " At Last " I completley agree with you about listening to Lucy, she takes you back in time when the world had all those amazing female singers, Lucy has this great ora about her & her voice is so rich & powerful, it's just like going back to the 60's & 70's when they had all those great singers. take care Barbara

Excellent thoughtful analysis Bob of not only Lucy's outstanding performance but also the iconic song made popular by Etta James. HOWEVER Lucy made this her very own. Listen to the power and those smoky low notes. Her lower range is almost becoming a trade mark of her incredible vocals now. On the other hand and for a contrast, it would be interesting to get your reaction to Lucy and Martha's rendition of "Pie Jesu" where Lucy's upper range hits the heavens - it's incredible .

Any singer who can take on covers of legends like Barbara Streisand and Whitney Houston etc and is amazing is something special. In the 50s 60s & 70s there were some incredible singers, and young Lucy has proved over and over again that she can handle any musical style flawlessly.

How can you talk about the "original song" without mentioning it was written by Harry Warren and Mack Gordon and first recorded by the Glenn Miller Orchestra in the early 1940's? This version was arranged by Riley Hampton and recorded by Etta James some twenty years later, so it is only an Etta James song in that her recording was a hit. But I agree with your assessment that Lucy Thomas did an outstanding performance of it.

"It's a classic for a reason" - That is a great quote by you & so true. All three are splendid. Chloe does a Carpenters tribute. But Tori is a stand out and does more than Carpenters covers. I hope there is a Herb Alpert out there to give her a shot at a recording career. * "Solitare" is the title of a Neil Sedaka song that the Carpenters covered. Look it up, it is quite lovely.

Hey Bob, Happy Birthday!🎂Ummm 30?... Okay.... lol. Never heard of any of these women, all 3 have good voices. Allie had a very nice performance, think I liked hers the most. But yeah that dancer was a bit of a distraction, I tried to ignore him. A little over a year ago you reacted to "Lullaby For the Undead" by Snow White Blood, which has Ulli Perhonen on vocals. Go back to the comments in that video, Ulli herself left a comment a few days ago. She replied to a few other comments with hearts, including mine, got a yt notice when she did, that's how I found out. Figured you'd like to know if you missed the notification. Btw, NEW Nightwish!!. Music video for "Perfume of the Timeless" dropped last week. 1st single from the upcoming 10th album, Yesterwynde. Enjoy you Birthday.

Well, first off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOB! Hope you have a lovely day. I loved Allie's voice. Maybe the dancer was a street performer she knew, and she was helping him earn a little more money other than tips. But I agree with what you said. I loved the depth of Sara's voice with Just the guitar. (And her dimples.) So beautiful. But you know what? I am loving Lindsey's voice the most. And her playing the guitar, too, was wonderful! I really liked her vibe. Thanks for these! And again, Happy Birthday!

Tori Holub has an amazing voice and is nearly identical to Karen's voice as far as tone and pitch accuracy. It's amazing that she is only 20. Let's just say her talent was a gift just like Karen's was. I was surprized you didn't include Ksenia Buzina, a Russian woman that tours with Leonid & Friends. Her voice is just like Tori's yet is more experienced. If any of you haven't seen the videos of Leonid & Friends, please do so. You will not be disappointed.

You may have noticed a tiny difference on the voice of the studio version, which has just a hint of raspiness in it. (Think Kim Carnes.) Nancy was a little ill during the original. There is a little different "color" to her voice (not worse, nor better,..,just different). I think the "sweeter" quality in great.
@Air516 күн бұрын
I feel the only one that holds the full "Karen Carpenter" sound is Chloe by a mile. Lostening to the other 2 shoes their weak spots with any range but Chloe has the power and sound throughout. The other 2 are good singers without a doubt but just not in Chloes league for this song.
