This is a great introduction to Home Free's silly side. This one plus Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget (written by Tim) and Butt's Remix/Medley (which shows how diverse their talents are) are my favorite silly/humorous songs.

There's an interview with Tim where he says -- way before he met Home Free -- his agent guy told him "I don't want to support you unless you commit to being a country artist". (This was at a time when Tim was actively trying to move away from country. No, really.) Tim was like "Fine, I guess." He says "I went home, drank a bottle of Jack Daniels, and wrote the corniest country song I could imagine." Yep: Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget. Naturally, Home Free hit the video out of the park. (The guy in black who walks through at the end is Avi from Pentatonix, another acapella band I am actively avoiding because I can only take so much at a time.)

So it's quite obvious that you like at least two things, acapella music, and Christmas music. It's only fitting that you react to the song that started the modern acapella movement. Is by a group called Straight No chaser, They were a club acapella group from the University of Indiana. They did a concert in 1998 that someone recorded, and put that video on KZbin in KZbin's infancy around 2003. The song quickly went viral, and those original members eventually formed a professional group and have been touring ever since. The viral video predates The sing off by a couple years. I believe that particular group was the inspiration for that show. All that to say you need to react to Straight No Chaser, "12 days of Christmas"

This is one of the silliest of all Christmas songs...in the same class as "The Chipmunk Song." Somewhat more sophisticated was 10-y.o. Gayla Peevy's 1954 hit "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas."
