I've listened to every KZbin performance that Jewel did of a Merry Little Christmas! She never sang it better than she did with home free accompanying her! They pushed her to sing it better!

After the show they did a Hunter Hayes medley which they ended with I Want Crazy. I can remember the discussion with my parents how if Home Free didn’t win, it wouldn’t be fair. They were in a class all their own and there shouldn’t be any other option than them to win. Considering I thought they had won since Ring of Fire. It really is incredible how much they’ve grown since the show. It definitely made my family life long fans of them. As we have been following them loyally ever since. Watching them grow, introducing them to people and watching other people finding them. I think that’s why so many of us Home Fries love watching people like you discover them and reacting to them, finding that same enjoyment and amazement at their talent. Chase had been on the Sing Off the year before in Street Corner Symphony, which was a bigger group so you never really got to hear him individually, but we had always liked them as well. They were a bit more traditional than a group like Urban Method which was much more contemporary/hip hop, though they did do a version of You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch which was really enjoyable.

Tim holds that low note for around 13 seconds. Holy cow and they have only gotten better And now Austin goes even higher I think it would be cool if they collaborated with her now.

That would be super cool. They do a lot of work with other artists, so it would definitely be cool to see them do a collab with her. Even if its just a cover of one of her hits. I bet you Home Free would do an amazing cover of You Were Meant For Me.

@@DanFromHali I think so too. I still always wonder if the 3 judges keep track of these groups not like follow everything, which they might, but check in sometimes. I saw some other Home Fries say that when they did End of the Road Shawn commented I havent found the comment yet and he might have done it privately. I'll still look for it tho lol

I agree about the star quality.....one reactor said...look at those guys....do they look like singers? Saying that there are folks that look like singers. But he was totally impressed with them looking like 5 regular guys and sounding amazing. He is a regular Hone Free reactor since End of the Road a year ago. To me their charm...besides amazing voices is they seem humble and very relatable.

I apologize if you saw it already, but you also need to react to the showdown of Home Free vs The Filharmonic during the Sing-Off. During the season Home Free avoided having to get involved in this because it has an influence on who goes home. So finally they are in it, and both groups are performing I'm Alright from the movie Caddyshack. The resulting effort of both groups was as collaborative as it was competitive. It was so fun to watch (and watch for the beatbox-off section).

I'm just catching up with all of the reactions I missed during my vacation - I loved this! If you' d really like to watch the complete shows from my channel (completely worth it in my opinion) just please be aware that the separated performances of Home Free have some of the coverage in it that are also on other (intro) videos. I also have the complete shows on my channel BUT I couldn't upload them in the same quality as the separated performances, maybe due to the length.

Home Free actually applied to the Sing off previously 3 times and we're denied even getting onto the show, until they decided to go country, until they added Tim January 2012, and Austin in the end of 2012. The fourth time is the charm apparently. Also in this season of the Sing off were a couple of collegiate groups, Princeton and U of Kentucky's AcoUstiKats. And don't forget Filharmonic.

Well they have to have some collegiate groups. thats the bread and butter of acapella, even if they don't win. And just being on national tv is a huge recognition for the group.

I loved Adam's slow brush on the snare sound too, I could listen to this every Christmas, it's radio Christmas song quality except, no instruments, but if you heard it you would never know.

This was really cool to watch again. I keep going back to the sing off, usually to hear Ring of Fire. As HF left the stage at the end of this you could see the emotion from all 5 of the guys. I really like some of the Sing Off Tour they did, with VoicePlay and Filharmonic. I think there is where you pick up on Tim's sarcasm during a show. Of course we all like that also. Thanks again.

You can hear how tired Austin's voice was - when he's tired his speaking voice goes up a couple of octaves. He damn near lost his voice for good during the Sing Off due to the producers not understanding that tenors are like racehorses: you can't keep them running and running for hours on end without damage. The producers kept wanting to hear the high stuff over and over, without even providing a vocal coach to help the voices recover. It's quite funny hearing Austin talk as if they'd all been together for years, when in his case it had been a matter of months.

I still get a little teary-eyed watching the announcement of their win! So much emotion coming from the guys, rightly so, too! I would't mind seeing you react to Voice Play and even Streetcorner Symphony (Chance's former group, who landed in 2nd place). I watched all seasons from the beginning during their original airings. I guess Ive always been an A Capella geek! lol I was in an A Capella Concert choir in high school decades ago, but it was nothing like today's A Capella! We sure didn't have any beatboxers, but we had some bass! I really enjoyed going down memory lane watching the Home Free's journey.

If you do have that Jewel Christmas album, get it out. It’s on my Holiday Playlist. Way underrated vocalist. Love Jewel. Fun to watch along with you. I remember watching this week to week. Pulling for Home Free the entire time. So happy when they won 😺

This is well done. I don’t know the song either and it’s not my favorite song but they do it well. Tim sounds great with this low notes. I know they do a Hunter Hayes medley and it’s pretty good. Good reaction Dan.
