This is such a fun mashup of songs. Very cleverly done from one song to another. The talent these guys have is phenomenal. They have so much fun but the vocals never suffer. And Adam's beatboxing is on another level. Home Free was very respectful in this video about not exploiting or offending any women.

Loving you ladies. Lots of fun. Such a deep well where these guys are concerned. Lots of fun stuff. Lots of serious stuff. To really hear their vocal reach, try them doing How Great Thou Art or Vince Gills Go Rest High on that Mountain. The locations they shoot on are amazing too. Also they have done a bunch of covers collabbing with the original artists. They did Elvira with the Oak Ridge Boys, and American Pie with Don McLean. They will take on any genre. They did a cover of All About that Bass, and a medley of Sea Shantys. If you want to hear Tim go really low, they did a cover of Ring of Fire with Avi Kaplan (former bass from the group Pentatonix). They let him do a lot of the bass parts on that, but Tim does the very last note of the song. Don't know what your musical knowledge is but the last note he sings is a G1. Verrrry Looow. Keep having fun with it!

You wanted to know in the "Man of Constant Sorrow" video if any of the guys were related. In that video, no. However, this one is even older and two of the members (at this time) are brothers. The beatboxer, Adam Rupp, and the guy in the black cowboy hat, Chris Rupp. Okay, you want a more serious song and these guys can do it. Check out their version of "Crazy" (originally by Patsy Cline, my all-time favorite female singer); or "End of the Road"; oh, just check out more Home Free.

This is so fun. They can be hilarious when they want. But the music doesn't suffer. For a TOTALLY different look, try their version of How Great Thou Art. Master class in 5-part harmony.
@nancyholter5646 Жыл бұрын
Tim was a tenor until LATE in high school, so his dropping had no affect on his sound. Serious songs for you to sample: How Great Thou Art; Brothers in Arms (both are master classes in 5 part harmony); the "Church Sessions" version of Go Rest High (the official one has a heart-tugging video that will distract you from the music/talent); My Country 'Tis of Thee - for starters.
@Tribblepuppy Жыл бұрын
Congrats on discovering the most talented group of guys out there. Home Free was founded in 2000 by 2 brothers, Chris Rupp, who moved on to a solo career in 2016, and his brother Adam Rupp. Adam is a beat boxer without compare, he is able to produce a wide variety of sounds, and is a driving force of the group. Austin Brown is one of the tenors, and Rob Lundquest (the beard) is the other. Adam Chance joined the group in 2016 as their baritone, but is very adept at also handling both tenor and bass. Then there is Tim Foust. Tim is a basso profundo, meaning he can sing the very deepest bass, but since he has a 5 octave vocal range, he can also sing high tenor. During their live concerts, Tim has been known to break speakers with his bass vocals, and I can tell you first hand that he vibrated my rib cage. Home Free are a great group of guys, very friendly and funny, and they are very appreciative of their fans and concert audience. You have a deep rabbit hole to go down so enjoy the ride, and welcome for becoming new Home Fries (fans).

The idea for this medley was Chris Rupp's (charter member, solo now) and he asked Layne Stein, the beatboxer for VoicePlay (Oogie Boogie Song is great starting place for them), to help with the arrangement. Chris has a behind the scenes video about this on his channel. Keep on keepin' on, ladies!

The Home Free that you would enjoy is their cover of "In the Blood", "Helplessly Hoping", "When a man loves a woman". All are excellent. Welcome to the a capella rabbit hole. There are some wonderful groups out there, and Home Free are one of the best. "Helplessly Hoping", "Sea Shanty Medley", "All About That Bass", "Ring Of Fire" (which features Avi Kaplan, the bass singer from Pentatonix--two basses Ior four dropped balls, if you will) for the price of one), "Champagne Tastes (On A Beer Budget)", "Fulsom Prison Blues" and "Brothers In Arms" are my recommendations. Two other a capella groups I think you'd enjoy are Pentatonix (I recommend their cover of "Hallelujah", "Daft Punk Medley", "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy", and "Run To You" (an original song of theirs). And finally, a third group called "VoicePlay". If you like the deep bass voice singers, you'll enjoy VoicePlay. "The Oogie Boogie Song" (from The Nightmare Before Christmas), "My Mother Told Me" and it's Viking sequel "Valhalla Calling", "Hoist The Colors", "We Don't Talk About Bruno", "Hide and Seek (Ding Dong)", "Nothing Else Matters" and "Seven Nation Army" are my recommendations here. All of these groups have had member changes, so you'll see different faces from time to time, but they all sound incredible, and these recommendations give you a good place to start (and gives you material for about 19 Fridays...lol)

If you're chasing a more 'serious', and incredibly powerful song, have a look at Brothers in Arms. Originally by the UK supergroup, Dire Straits, it's a moving arrangement that highlights the vocal talents, including the singing of beatboxer, Adam Rupp. And another beautiful classic is the Gospel hymn, How Great Though Art. Enjoy the ride, ♥️ from 🇦🇺

I highly recommend Workin' for a Living to new reactors because it is the current lineup, is recent enough that most of their hairstyles are current-ish, is easy to hear all the guys sing (their baritone, Adam Chance, did the jaws harp sound in Man of Constant Sorrow, but didn't sing lead and hadn't joined HF when this video was made), shows off more of Adam Rupp's fantastic "nomonica", and provides you with all their names at the start of the video. It also shows off their signature humor. A bit of history on this one, the idea for this medley was Chris Rupp's (guy in the cowboy hat), who took a list of butt songs to Layne Stein of the a cappella group VoicePlay. Layne did the initial arrangement, then Chris and his brother Adam (the beatboxer) polished it up.

Romantic: When a Man Loves a Woman (One of their best! You will love this one..) 5 Part Harmony (No beat boxing): Brothers in Arms. Motown (sorta): Blue Ain't Your Color. Country: Hillbilly Bone. Test Your Subwoofers: Folsom Prison Blues. Christmas: Mary Did You Know. Beat Boxing: Adam Rupp's Drum Solo. Collaboration: American Pie and Elvira. Patriotic: Tavelin Soldier, God Bless the U.S.A, and Land of the Free. Other Great Songs: In the Blood, My Church, Amazed, Unchained Melody and Fishin’ in the Dark / Down in the Boondocks.

Hard to go wrong with any Home Free song. Their cover of "Folsom Prison Blues" and "Ring of Fire featuring Avi Kaplan" both show off their bass ability. I'd also suggest reacting to any of the Adam Rupp (their beatboxer) drum solo's. There are several done live and each that I've seen is amazing. I should also mention that "Folsom Prison Blues" was recorded during covid and they were in different locations.
