It's okay to make mistakes if you can learn from them. This is Chance's first video with Home Free. The song at the end was "Wake Me Up" (Avicii Cover).

Chance was no accident, they were familiar with him from "The Sing Off" and Chris Rupp helped select him as his replacement before leaving (the touring and time demands of the group just became to much for his personal situation). He really does give a lot of options, with his 4+ octave range it allows Tim to go really low while they retain a full rich sound or Tim to go up with the Tenors while Chance holds down the bass. Doesn't hurt that he has a truly great voice. I loved his contribution to "Helplessly Hoping" and of course "Brothers in Arms" wouldn't be the iconic song it is without him.

I can recommend an interview Chris Rupp did with reactor QoFy in August 2021. Chris is very candid in it explaining why he left Home Free and that he actually was not involved in the recruitment of Chance. The pertinent info is at the 33 minute mark of the interview.

@@jadaskye I've heard while "helped select" is perhaps to strong a term his opinion on potential replacements was sought (which he may not perceive as a determining factor). Regardless I'm glad that the selection was as fruitful as it was.

@@gk5891 There is a lot of misinformation on KZbin and what you heard is a rumour that was passed around. The interview by QoFy is very interesting and I am sure that once you hear the reasons why Chris decided to leave and the fact that he was leaving it would have been inappropriate for him to participate in any way in the selection of his replacement.

Chance had been in other videos just not as part of the group yet. The song is Wake Me Up by Avicii. The shirt that Chance had on was the one from his old group Street Corner Symphony. They were on season 2 of The Sing Off. Enjoyed watching your reaction to this song.

I think that one of Home Free greatest strengths is, that they don't need too much "show". The "simpleness" of many videos is therefore often enough. Just put them somewhere and they succeed. Their voices do the work. I love this song because all their voices come out so well here. I thought it was the first song with Chance. I think the choice to bring Chance into the group has been the best choice they could have made. He fits perfectly into the group. A really good addition. He has such a recognizable silky smooth and sexy voice. But it sure sounds great. Yes, they all sang really well. This confirms to me why they are number one for me. Someone can have such a great voice, but if it doesn't really get to me, after a few songs I'll quickly turn it off. But I can really hear Home Free all day long. And what an unbelievably freaking good one that Adam is. What great vocal sounds he does here. Not normal how good. The number one beatboxer, the best of all!!!

There's a live version of this called "Timeless/Try Everything with a special dancer". There are lots of live Home Free videos available and they're often quite different from the studio video. The live version of "Ain't Going Down" is just terrific. I love your channel and positivity!

To me Chance was the missing piece of the puzzle left by Chris and his departure Chance was already known and liked by the whole group who knew his capabilities and Chance was exited to join we have seen the results.

I'm really enjoying your reactions...subbed. This is my go-to song for HF...Adam Rupp's beatboxing makes it for me. You ought to listen to Shakira's original on YT...obviously the voices are different, but there's not a whole lot more different when you listen to drums, etc.
