Said it before Pentatonix, Voice Play... they are really great, no question but... these guys are not just amazing singers in my opinion, they "touch" you, whether they make me cry or laugh they always manage to really get the message across. They are down to earth, silly, always reaching out to their fans, letting them "know them" a lot more then other artists do, they are obviously friends loving doing music together and it shows. They are people who you would like to just spend time with having fun.

This is a big rabbit hole, Home Free has over 150 videos to go thru. More of their fun songs, Hillbilly Bone, All About the Bass, Butts remix, and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget (Written by Tim Foust). Some of the there more serious songs, Brother in Arms -Dire Straights cover, Go Rest up on that Mountain - Vince Gill cover, Take Me Home Country Roads - John Denver cover, Helplessly Hoping - Cosby, Stills and Nash cover, and End of the Road - Boyz-to-Men cover. Friday they dropped another fantastic song Amazed - Lonestar and Boyz-to-Men cover. This is just scratching the surface. Have fun with your Home Free journey.

Oh man, this was the most fun to watch! I had a great time watching y’all rock out. I’m here for all the Home Free! Edited to add: The tv contest was The Sing Off (nbc?) They won the fourth season, competing against (among others) VoicePlay. Pentatonix won the third season. Home Free, Pentatonix and VoicePlay are the Big Three of a cappella though there’s lots of other fantastic groups too. A cappella fans are legion and we love it when reactors find the genre!
@calliec74932 жыл бұрын
A lot of great talent was introduced on the SingOff. Adam Chance takes the lead on this song. (They take turns with the lead although Adam Rupp prefers to harmonize in a tenor voice range between Rob and Austin when he isn't beatboxing.) Chance competed on the SingOff season 2 with his former group, Street Corner Symphony and came in second place. Pentatonix won season 3 and Home Free won season 4.

There are 3 exceptional a cappella groups currently and each are awesome. They are each so talented that they really don't have to compete. They all shine in their own right. I just sit back and bask in all three. Voice Play does a lot of show tunes, Pentatonix are heavily into popular music and Home Free does it all from Country to R&B, Rock to Gospel, and Christmas music to Blues and what ever else takes their fancy. All of them are crazy talented

He is the best! Great tribute to the Huey Lewis & The News song. Home Free won the "Sing Off" show in 2013. PTX won it the year before. And Tim Foust the bass singer was the camera man. Great review I think you guys would enjoy the "Butts Remix" it is super funny and still the vocals are all on point. If you want to see the beat boxer (Adam Rupp) do a live drum solo you will be blown away here is the link kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5LRfIqCisZ3psk. Stay away from Mayday for awhile the point is the song has some surprises and if you don't know the group well enough you will miss it and the Home Fries relish seeing your reactions when that happens. It is mostly for the benefit of the followers of Home Free but you will enjoy the performance no matter what.

Pentatonix has never been in competition against Home Free, so "NO" they did "NOT" beat Home Free...They each won a different season of The Sing Off. There really is no comparison in my opinion. PTX is good, but they (to me) are more about the performance whereas HF is more about the music. To really do a comparison you should watch a song that they have both performed such as "Angel's We Have Heard On High", both good but both very different. I personally like the more traditional sound of Home Free...Just my opinion.
@dagmar.69542 жыл бұрын
I prefer Home Free over PTX any day. They are way over hyped in my opinion.
@disney4real2 жыл бұрын
Completely agree! Not saying PTX isn’t talented, but home free is by far my favorite. I prefer the male voice in general, so I am not an overwhelming fan of the female in PTX and I find the 4 main HF singers voices superior to any and they have the best beat boxer, bass and high tenor out there . Thank you so much for your reaction! 🤗❤️

This was a spoof on the movie Anchorman. The show was The Sing Off and this group won season 4. Except it was the group before Adam Chance (goes by Chance) took over the baritone for the founder of the group Chris Rupp in May 2016.Tim the bass was the cameraman, Rob lead tenor was the sound, Austin has the long hair and cue cards sings the sky high tenor. And last but not least is Adam Rupp who is the beatboxer or their amazing vocal percussionist. You may want to wait awhile before you watch Mayday so you know the group a little better, and what each person can do.

Ok, want a Kool lead…” WHEN A MAN LOVES A WOMAN”💥😵💫‼️ And, it was done during Covid…they were all at their perspective homes across the country. Tim Foust…the Bass, had been after Austin Brown…the high tenor (& classically trained in musical theater), to do this, as his voice is Perfect. He finally relented….& WOW….‼️💥‼️❤️. They released it for Valentines Day last year…Too Perfect ❤️🥰❤️‼️. And, even more Kool…his girlfriend, Amberly was there in the studio when he was recording it…he was singing to her …..she’s a beautiful lady. He’s got his own channel…AUSTIN BROWN….& they did a video he wrote the music for…”LET’S TAKE THE NIGHT OFF”….. It’s too cute ❤️🥰❤️‼️💥

You should definitely check out other acapella groups because they are all crazy talented. Personally Home Free is, without challenge, nr 1 for many, many reasons. VoicePlay would be my personal second choice because they are super creative and just have plain fun. PTX doesn't really reach my personal list, bit it doesn't mean they aren't talented to their teeth, it's just not to my personal liking. The biggest difference between Home Free and the other two is that Home Free considers themselves a band while the other two are groups. The definition suggests that Home Free are using sounds to sound like a real band, while the other two are more typical acapella in their arrangements and performances. Home Free is all about the love for the music and the fans and for what they do. I've never seen any artist so genuinely appreciate their fans the way Home Free does, and the Home Fries, their fans, are known within the music industry and devoted, kind, loyal and generous. So you'll notice as you go down the rabbit hole that these guys have many, many sides and offer many, many genres of music. They do mostly covers, or upgrades as we lovingly call them simply because they are often am upgrade from the original, but there are also some very skilled songwriters in the band and their originals are all really, really good. Looking forward to going down the rabbit hole with you. 😁🙏🥰

So much fun! I’m subscribing for more Home Free. They’re nuts and I love them. This is a cover of a Huey Lewis and the News song from the 80’s with a little Ron Burgundy scenes thrown in (from the movie Anchorman). They’re so goofy but their music never suffers. They have a lot of serious ones but also they have goofy ones too. One I love is This Is How We Roll from the movie The Big Lebowski (with Jeff Bridges). It’s hilarious. Also the Butts Medley is so funny and Country Fried Pop Medley. Also check out Adam Rupp Drum Solo (2015). Amazing beatboxing from Adam. You’ll love it. Great reaction boys!

These guys don't take themselves too seriously. Which is always good. Home Free *WON* The last and final season (Season 4) of the Sing-OFF in Dec 2013. You are thinking of Pentatonix who won Season 2 in Dec 2011. These guys can song anything and yes this has a rock vibe because it was a rock song sung by Huey Lewis & the News in the early 1980's. Take your time to hear MayDay. Tim Foust allowed his grey/silver hair to come out and he also cut his hair during the pandemic so he has a different look but his bass voice is still as fine as ever.

They have their deep,moving side and their humorous side; I enjoy both. Also,they always seem to be on point with their backdrops. Think of those huge oak trees in Man of Constant Sorrow. Adam Chance plays the newscaster in this one. He goes by Chance since their are two Adams in the group,the other being Adam Rupp,the beatboxer and all around sound effects guy. The fact that Chance is wearing a burgundy suit reminds me of Ron Burgundy that Will Ferrell starred in.

Most acapella fans feel there are 3 world class groups that make up the trifecta: Pentatonix (won the Sing-Off in 2012 or 2013?), Home Free (won Sing-Off the following year), and Voice Play (competed in the Sing-Off with Home Free). Each has a unique style, but all 3 are fantastic. I've seen it commented that if they were all in high school, PTX would be the student council, Home Free would the guys having a tailgate party in the parking lot, and Voice Play would be the theater geeks. If you check out Voice Play, some favorites are Warriors, My Mother Told Me, Hoist the Colours (EPIC), Wicked Medley (from the musical), The Little Mermaid Medley, Bang, Butter (BTS!), Carry on Wayward Son, Friends on the Other Side.

By the way, Tim Foust and Austin Brown both live in/around Nashville. Tim often does fund-raising for veterans charities and Austin often joins him - there are some videos of the fund-raisers. They do more than country songs. They do a lot of covers but also originals. They have quite a few funny video as they are very playful with Rob (glasses) and Tim (bass) being the jokers. There are usually considered to be 3 major a cappella groups: Pentatonix, Home Free, and VoicePlay. They each have different styles and aren't in any way competition with the others. In fact the friendship between them is strong and many times one of one group with appear in a video with another or work behind the scenes helping produce or choreograph another group's video. Home Free's bass Tim Foust (with the camera) coached Geoff Castallucci (VoicePlay's bass) on getting his voice down low enough to cover 5 octaves, which is just a little bit less than Tim's. Pentatonix (aka PTX) won season 3 of The Sing-Off (2011?) and Home Free won season 4 in late 2013. VoicePlay was in season 4 and was eliminated early. Check all three groups out, they all are wonderful. Avi Kaplan, PTX's former bass singer, sang with Home Free in Ring of Fire.
