“Home in Pasadena” was written by Harry Warren, Grant Clarke and Edgar Leslie and published in 1923. Harry Warren, one of the important American songwriters, had just gotten his start in the music business by publishing his first song, “Rose of the Rio Grande.” The nostalgic lyrics talk about traveling to Pasadena by train, “where the honeybees hum melodies and orange trees scent the breeze.”
This was the song that inspired the name of the Pasadena Roof Orchestra.
