So sad you lived something like that. My husband and I suffered a home invasion on January 2015 and was horrible. They tried to rape me but didn't do anything because I fought back. After that, they did two more home invasion and one person got shot, so we were pretty lucky to be unharmed. The worst part was my ptsd. But everything is better now. You'll be better too. (sorry for my bad english).

I can see by my likes and thumbs up on other comments that I've obviously watched this video before but I don't remember watching this video, how could I possibly forget. I pray you're doing better. Watching this video of your cheekbones and jaw TMJ, has actually helped me understand some of the problems I have been going through. I hope and pray you are doing better today! And yes you are a very strong and beautiful woman! PeaCefAithlOVe &ReSPeCt, Shelley Anne

I've been dealing with temporomandibular joint syndrome for over 20 years. It can suck, but most of the time it's pretty manageable. I was advised to avoid any surgery for it, unless the pain became absolutely unbearable. The surgery can leave you permanently disfigured. Avoid chewy things. Gum, bagels, etc. My jaw used to click and get stuck open or shut. One day I made the mistake of eating a bagel. The cartilage in the joint (left side) was fully displaced. The locking of the joint actually has never returned since then. Pain is occasional. never too severe. Good luck. get lots of opinions before opting for any drastic or expensive treatments.
@vex-nh8 жыл бұрын
I broke both TMJs in an accident and ten years later got to the point where the pain was ridiculous.. had no cartilage left in either joint.. the joints pretty much weren't joints anymore. Was a nightmare trying to find a surgeon, but surgery brought the pain way down. Not gone, but nothing like it was. I'm not any uglier than I was to start with. You're right though, avoid chewy stuff. Invest in a good blender. Don't clench, ever. There are physical therapists that can help with TMJ issues. They're not a cure, but they can help reduce the pain for a bit while you're trying to figure out what to do or waiting on doctors.

While I'm glad you were lucky I'm sad you had to face the ugly side of life this way. The things human beings do to each other. It's good of you to share this story as it's a wake up call to everyone that thinks they're invincible. Self defense is a serious topic, especially for women. I wish you the best possible outcome and am so glad you're still here to share the tale.

I'm sorry for this horrible event you're going through. If you're still in need of financial help I would look into services that provide help to victims of violent crimes. I was shot during a drive by shooting and an organization in texas helped pay for my medical expenses. I hope this will help if you need it.

I hope this comment finds you much better by now! Since hearing of your injuries and seeing the scans, I've been wanting to recommend you find a good Chiropractor with neurological training. This reminds me of a TMJ injury I sustained, and after much searching, it was specific Chiropractic cranial adjustments that resolved the issues. They were gentle, palpation like adjustments that were incredibly and quickly effective. I do note the comments re physiotherapy and acknowledge the different personal experiences others may have. I'm by no means trying to undermine the role physiotherapists can play in the treatment and management of soft tissue injury. However, I would much rather have specific adjustments performed by a Chiropractor, who is a Doctor and has equivalent years of training as a GP (7 to 8 years) but with a specialised focus, than receive non-specific manipulations by a physiotherapist whose qualifications require less than half the training and have soft tissue focus. It is a very important distinction especially in this case, where both the muscular and skeletal systems are involved. It isn't the the type of purely soft tissue injury which is the domain of a physiotherapist, whereas Chiropractors work with the skeletal system in conjunction with the soft tissue element. I wish you well, and really hope you've recovered both physically and emotionally from such a traumatic experience. All the best 💗

I'll preface this by saying I'm not a doctor, but do have a fair bit of experience in the realm of LMT's. Chiro is a good move for the neck issue. But, it's all connected! So, by relieving the pinch in the neck, most likely your shoulder will release WITHOUT injections. Next, check into Cranial Sacral therapy. It's a low impact adjustment of the bones in the skull and face. It's likely to relieve your problems without splits and appliances.
@mytube09696 жыл бұрын
I know this is long after the fact, but that is what I was thinking too. Why waste all that money & time. Plus injecting crap into the tissues? Cranial sacral & chiro plus massage.

I'm no medical person at all, but if the CT is the one where you inject or drink something special before going into the machine, the darkness at the joint probably indicate that the bloodflow there is too low or too high compared to the other side. (The special stuff goes in your blood, just so it can show up on the pictures, and it obviously only goes into blood that's actually flowing during the test).
@12sec5ltr8 жыл бұрын
What she is showing you is a non-contrast CT Scan. So basically everything you said doesn't apply here. I think what you are trying to describe is CTA ( CT Angiography) which shows the structure and flow of blood vessels. She actually did a very good job of describing it in layman's terms.

And now you are learning the true price. There is a price to live without learning what to do to defend yourself. There is a price when governments limit your freedom to defend yourself. While you have to fight insurance companies, doctors, pain, life altering injuries, the ones that attacked you are living on the Canadian tax dollar. It's not fair and nobody is going to help you. This is when people really figure out just how awful governments are when they limit ones ability to defend themselves.

She sees what other people dont see. But, that's expected. It's her face. Does she earn a living based on her looks as do face models, actresses, news media reporters, sex escorts? No. She is just like the most of us. Also, we must account for the aging process. I was an injury/liability investigator. People, after trauma expect to get back to where they were before the incident. Doesn't work that way. You go thru your process then move on and make life it's fullest or go down this road and never be satisfied which heavily effects your quality of life as time goes by.

@live awesomeness, can you give me a quick break down on the types of pain you get please?? Reason I ask is I've been getting alot of migraines, including visual disturbance, pain across my sinuses on both sides, pain in the back of my neck on both sides where the muscles join to the skull, pain in my upper and lower jaw on both sides, especially just in front of where the joints you have problems are. The severity varies, as does which part hurts when, sometimes its left side front, others right side front, other times it feels like the pain extends from the back, round the side to the front ect. I also get stiffness in my neck and down to the shoulders from tight muscles ect. I myself have experienced similar to you, being tortured in a home invasion btw, which is how I found your video. It's not helped by several other assaults and accidents I've had either(I have Asperger's syndrome which means I have serious social problems and seem to attract people that sense I'm vulnerable+can be a little careless or clumsy). I've had at least 6 different fracture sites in my skull over the years as a result, plus several I always discounted because they didn't fracture anything to my knowledge so after seeing this, I suspect I may have problems very similar to yours although doctors have never investigated for such damage despite me reporting long term chronic pains. All they do is give me a few ineffective pain killers such as naproxen, co-codomol, diclofenac which work for medium level pain, but not the worst.

I agree with the MD/therapist. You are one tough woman! I don't know how you are able to handle this. I have met old GIs that were less stoic. I also agree with Nicole (commentor from a week ago), don't go to a chiropractor. Rather , seek out a surgeon. www.spine-health.com/treatment/back-surgery/cervical-spine-surgery I will say this also; you were blessed that these dogs did not rape you. That may have been on the mind of the one who choked you, but his "boss" stopped him. Not because he cared about a possible rape case (after all, they are murders), but for his own inexplicable reasons. I prefer to think that the Spirit of God intervened. I pray that God will provide you with more strength to continue your recovery.
