Friends, I read somewhere that one only has a TRUE Home Library when there is at least 1000-Books. I am sometimes astonished at "Libraries" that have only a couple of bookshelves with room for perhaps 400-Books. I also dislike Libraries that waste potential shelf space. Sure, there is a window there. There is still room for a COUPLE of shelves beneath the window and at least ONE shelf above. I dislike shelves that don't go all the way to the ceiling as well. I want to see a Home Library that is built for the fellow who has MANY books and fully intends to add to his Library throughout his life. One thing that I have yet to see-IF I had an impressive Home Library, I'd slap Dewey Decimals on my non-fiction and arrange my fiction in alphabetical order-and I'd want a nice oak card catalog. I'd seldom NEED to refer to the catalog in my own Library, but it would be SUCH A NICE TOUCH. A "Friend" once renarked that Computers make Card Catalogs unnecessary-but life quickly becomes both monotonous and Daemonic when limited to the bare "Necessities."

some of these are almost big enough to fit my books.... right now I have 9 book cases double stacked and I still can't fit them all. I need a bigger library.

If I am not mistaken the library at 1:12 is in the home of George Lucas (the _Star Wars_ director).
