Hello I bought the same VFO, no matter how I set it, from the antenna connector the frequency does not exceed 8 MHZ, even if the display shows 20, 30, 40 or 56 Mhz. Is mine defective or am I setting it wrong? Thanks. Regards.

What amplifier you need for TX? Did you connect it? Do you have a video for TX?

In all videos, the authors cite the RX test, but no one showed the TX test.

Looks like a great radio to do DIY on. Glad I found this. I've just ordered my SSB6.1 mainboard and a 45W power amplifier and my DDS VFO have already arrived on my mail. Looking forward to hearing you on air if my antenna can receive your signal that is.. Haha.

My SSB6.1 receiver is little deaf and noisy 😀 I don't have proper sorted crystals. It ia very important. I have got a problematic DDS board. There is still a lot of work on this project 😉

Reading on a PDF file I found while searching for "SSB6.1" in google it says that min rx dds freq shouldn't be on or near 8MHz since it will cause interference by leakage into the IF which is at 8MHz

Hi Paul, your video for the SSB 6.1 is already a bit older but I still have a question about this kit. Do the coils all have to be wound by hand or are they wound by the supplier? 73 Bernd

Great video. Where did you buy the green board that is connected to the red board? I got mine from Aliexpress but without the other board, I cannot get it to work. The pins are also not labelled.

Thank you! Honestly I dont like much this DDS generator. It doesnt have much clean output signal and it needs to do additional mods.

Is it also capable of receiving LSB? Because on your own board there is only 1 X-tal at the BFO. Or does the DDS does the frequency shift?

Yes, it is, but switching is not very nice. Yes DDS does the shift.

I think i heard the same sound when was 12pin DDS cable disconnected from TRX PCB. Make sure that all are 12 wires connected properly. And also try to check any output signal from DDS coax or if is properly connected to PCB.

Try to use battery to prevent noise from DC source.

I will try to find some battery. I checked ribbon cable, it appears to be fine for me.

Daniel C Hi yes ive got MLA. I made a few of MLAs. But this trx was not tested yet with MLA. I am working on the T/R switch and input RX preamplifier. After that i will test it on MLA :)

I built the kit. It sounds horrible and its full of birdies, the high noise is due in part to harmonic distortion ant the DDS output due to non linearity of the buffer output stage. The audio is anyway noisy by itself due to poor filtering and excessive audio gain. The AGC is a joke (derived after the audio volume potentiometer!!!) The kit is anyway fun to build for hams
