I would love to see you showcase the x6100 with an actual real time setup as you get contacts, using notch filters, or how to tune it.

Hello, I just picked one of your latest videos on the magloop antenna. Could you please make a video or 2 giving it a go on working DX using CW? I think it could convince more operators (meaning customers of you) when they can hear what the potential is of the magloop using a more DX suitable mode like CW. Small compact antenna and operating QRP, using SSB with all due respect is not showing the antenna's potential. I'm curious to find out. 73 es dx Gust ON6KE

Thanks for the review! very useful. In SSB/CW modes is it possible to reduce the step to less than 1kHz (I realise the display isn't capable showing after the decimal point)? Or is the only option to tune in 1kHz steps, then use the BFO as a clarifier? Thanks again.

I have tried two of these, with very little success. Nothing like the number or strength of stations in this video. I am sending them back. Donut antenna not helpful. A bit better on 40m end fed antenna, but nothing two brag about.

Great activation and great video quality. I have the Cha MCC as well and it’s a great portable op antenna. I recently picked up the SS17 whip as well. It works amazing as a stand alone antenna with some radials. I haven’t tried it with the MCC yet.

Thanks Paul. I purchased one of these broadband loops for my Kenwood F6A tribander ht (which includes an all-mode rcvr from 150KHz to ~ 990MHz) and for the Malahit ATS-25 sdr unit.. For both radios, this loop required a small impedance matching lo-hi Z antenna unit. The unit also includes an on board battery and wide band rcv amplifier which improved the sensitivity on MF-HF.. Question- At 29:08 mins: What is the small rf port shown in the middle near the large ic? GPS time or ref oscillator possibly? 73, n6spp -sfo bay area

Nice review! I'm working on a project right now using an ESP32 and I'm including a webserver in my code, so that it can be controlled from any web browser. Seems like they could do that and provide a lot more functionality like stored frequency and direct entry without any hardware changes. Maybe they will someday! de wk6i

The shortwave bands are far from empty. Most of the time, I listen to HAM operators across all HAM bands, CB stations (mainly truck drivers from Texas and Louisiana), and professional time signals on 5.0, 10.0, 15.0, 20.0, 25.0, and other frequencies. There are always professional TTY signals and even broadcast stations in USB mode. Of course, it all depends on propagation conditions and the receiver you’re using. Personally, I prefer wideband scanner receivers. They eliminate the need for a band switch and can tune into frequencies up to 1,300 MHz or even 2,900 MHz. These are a bit more expensive, but beyond regular AM and FM stations, there’s always something interesting happening-whether nearby or far away. Keep listening, and enjoy the world of radio!

i have a mag mount now for that 11 meter antenna you have also the HT antenna,i just wanna share mine findings, when you wanna tune it for other band try to slide the sections from the top instead of from the bottom from HT antenna,i see in your video,s you slide the sections from the bottom in,it might not work better for you but for me it works better this way

Well, there is little mistake at about 21:00. this antenna has best sensitivity to signals comming orthogonally to antenna's plane. Signals comming sideways are attenuated. Anyway - thanks for the ping about existence of such gadget. I am considering to buy one. At least to feed my curiosity :) Thanks & regards!

This is exactly what I was explaining in the video. Even two small "signal" icons are printed on the antenna which means direction of antenna reception. Thanks for watching!

was waiting for this detailed review. 👍🏻 No matter what -ICOM fanboys- pro radio amateurs say, this is a great entry-level all-band receiver for a small price. It offers excellent value for the money to those who know what to expect and how to operate inexpensive Si473x-based radios. One input I have: there was an even smaller receiver, about half the size, based on the Si4732-A10 with an OLED display. However, it’s ±3 years old and may no longer be available for purchase. Also, kudos for the simple doughnut antenna demo. I have two of them (for different frequency ranges) but wasn’t sure they could be considered useful.
