After mod, my radio display everything but not receiving any signal. I think flexible board is fault. Because when I switch to normal mode 2m/70cm I can recieve and transmit using new antenna socket. When switch to mod system I hearing only some typical sound but it's dosen meters what mode or band I use. No any signal recieve.

Hi Paul, I installed this following your guide but skipped removing the cap for the second antenna mod, turn the radio and can access the chip with fn+0 (FM), but there's barely any sound and no reception. I can hear _something_ if I turn the volume up to 100%, it sounds faintly like a detuned radio with no antenna (pure white noise). When I installed, I checked every connection with a multimeter continuity tester, I'm almost completely confident everything is installed correctly. Any advice on what might have gone wrong?

Does the radio from aliexpress come with the 2nd antenna spot installed ? I because when you use your link it shows the radio and says its modified but it does not show the BNC connector.

Maybe ok for rfi source tracking?

I just made the mod, but after all I can't enter any frequency after pressing "FM". After "wait" apears, It's on "0" and I don't even get the top line of 20m,30m,40m,50m bands.... I don't know what to do. As much as I reset the device is the same, and I can not insert numbers in that menu, only the conventional menu. Help pleaseee

Im just curious of why you have a rotator for what looks like a multi-directional antenna you have, unless the antenna is not multi-directional. What is the point of an extra antenna that doesn't work as well as the built in one? Unless it can get rid of all of the strange chirps and whistles that plague this radio on many medium wave frequencies.

i am very upset, that there is absolutely NO radio on the market which captures really all modes. I am looking for a radio with great LW MW SW (AM + SSB) capabilities, VF UHF in FM *AND* DAB+ for digital broadcast aswell.

Your QTH must be exceptional for shortwave listening, or perhaps you have a knack for choosing the perfect times based on propagation predictions ? Either way, impressive reception!

I couldn't find a single review on Amazon, don't know why. However, with a shortwave sensitivity of 20 uV which should be under 1 uV, I am not excited about this receiver. For AM Long Wave the sensitivity at 1 millivolt is horrible, far, far worse than at SW. Both bands can easily be .5 microvolt sensitivity or under in a economy receiver.

I don't know about the HF, but I could definitely use SSB on 2m and 70cm.

When you put it to the first test on 20 meters the guys were speaking in Greek. 14.309 KHz. This is an interesting mod and as others have said it would be nice if it was available with the mod from the factory. Was through my scrap box and did find some very fine coax line that is less than half the diameter of the RG174. Not sure of the impedance and it might even be for audio circuits. Would not really matter if just for receive. Now we will wait another decade to see if someone will come up with a cheap all band RX and TX small transceiver. 73!
