dude, that is so awesome! I need one the these so much! I have a 40hp Massey Ferguson Compact tractor and that is exactly what I need. Berry Hill Irrigation wants almost $2K for their 48" model. I need to learn to weld. Thanks for posting!!!

Very nice, I've been brain storming a design myself. Some great ideas here.

Nice design sir. Well done.

Nice job. I also built my own. It's interesting to see other variations. Mine takes a little longer to break down because I added a bed former to it, but I still love it.

Can you post a video of your bed former? I am building 1 as well.
@RetreatfarmFarmvilleVirginia7 жыл бұрын
The one i built attaches to my power tiller and has a row shaper box. The plastic applicator follows that and lays the sheeting down tight and i have my side runner tires angled out slightly to pull the plastic out and down at the same time to remove and hold the slack till the dirt folds over it. I added a extra set of rollers to tamp the outside edges down good also. You have a really nice set up there.

thanks for the idea's Tom, I may use that in my update.

Looks good to me. I'm taking snaps of your video to and printing for the guy at the welding shop. Would love to see if you have any modification done for this years crops if you like them better. Thank you for posting!

Very impressed! Those attachments are stupidly priced way too much! Been trying to figure out how to build one, thanks!

I agree! If you can even find one rated for a compact tractor. I make other implements too. Most recent is a 30 gallon pto powered sprayer.

I need one, and I need it in a month, I'm probably over convinced that this will fix my prior gardening issues with weeds. The dry weather I combat and other in garden growth. I will need to figure something out quickly but your video is very helpful. I dropped 2600 on a disc harrow that was useless on my land, dropped another 3400 on a tiller and it's perfect minus now I need to make rows and or roll mulch and lines like yours does. Later this season what do you run in the lows to kill weeds , what do you do to clean this up for next season?
@commoncents41746 жыл бұрын
If you add a full roller right before the guide wheels it will make the rows smoother and hold the plastic much tighter.
@KrazyKajun6024 жыл бұрын
That's nice, do you have any updated pictures?
@spellcheckforyou9 жыл бұрын
Correct. Tilled it all, then use just the disk hillers to form the beds.

You wouldn't happen to have plans or measurements for this implement? This looks exactly like something I need to build!

How did you make the raised beds to start off with? The disk hiller on the toolbar?

Is there anyway a man could buy a detail set of plans. Just love it. BX25
@arnoldcustom7 жыл бұрын
detail plans are neer needed, a simple layout with some sizes is all one needs, as a mfg we look to better the final product layout
@johnhall16144 жыл бұрын
Rough plans would be really good, awesome build and it works great

Will you be building these? Plans? This is what I am looking for to use with my sub-compact. Great job! Build it and we will come....
@spellcheckforyou8 жыл бұрын
I had thought about it as it was pretty reasonable to build price wise. but since it's essentially a prototype, there are things that I'd like to change to make it better. I'm just crazy busy. I actually haven't even planted a garden this year because I've been so busy with other stuff. I'd like to build a bed former for this to make a cleaner and tighter looking bed before I considered building and selling them.

I'm a welder fabricator and always looking for new ideas to build but it seems I cant get the consumables here, a simple drawing with some lengths would be great, we love building with tubeing, all my custom trailers are all built from tubeing, its the next strongest meatal to pipe

Bro, this is bad to the bone. Thanks for posting this video. Can't wait to start welding one for myself. Is there anything you would do differently?
@spellcheckforyou8 жыл бұрын
tim rogers yeah I'm going to update it this year and try to make a bed former to attach to it. I didn't like how loose the plastic was on top of the beds. I want the finished beds to look smoother and more professional.

the tittile says plastic, but it looks like landscape fabric, 1- I cant see how water could get thought if you didn't yours the drip tube, I'm I'm north western Ont, Canada, and I cant find narrow plastic like that, here its in a 4 foot roll folded over to open up to 8 feet is the smallest, and this drip tube I'm lost on, no one has this other then costly drip hose, it must be a big job to remove all that each year to plow, none of the videos show how you hook up all the rows of drip tube, not that it mater being none of the feed or co-ops farm supplest has any of this, I been using 4 foot wide landscape fabric so water can get though for years but this looks so much better, as I have to lay black poly line in the center on top adding nozzles every 6 to 8 feet the rolling it out year after year, I been using a troy-built 11hp horse tiller rear tin with the hilling attachment to form the raised bed, raking the tops over flat is a big job, and very hard to till as I have clay witch turns to rock once dry, I have tried tilling in brown sand, made it worse, I tried black topsoil but the clay just eats it up and its gone next year
@cowboy3917 жыл бұрын
Try Ebay, they have both the 4' plastic and the drip tape in all lengths.

Not really. We often plow with a .22lr in the sidebox of the tractor. Varmints.

Really liked your plastic mulch/drip tape layer. Then I saw your open carry and lost all respect for your attitude. Everyone I know does concealed carry and don't go around looking for trouble. Maybe you have really bad neighbors or rabid dogs that invade your space. Good luck in your growing.
@spellcheckforyou7 жыл бұрын
Well I don't require your respect nor did I ask for it. But since you brought it up, I'm on my own property in the country and can do what I like. there are also bears and coyotes where I live. I don't open carry in public. Thanks for your concern though.

Miguel S if you ever walk outside and see a black bear in front of your porch, you would carry as well. But I live next to a swamp lol
