Dang Brother, you just helped me to make a decision about building an auto hammer !! I'm struggling with lack of space inside & outside my Forge/Shop &, but I have to have an auto hammer with all the work that I have to do to get orders completed & shipped in a timely manner!! & i just wanted to find a hammer like this that will do the work & not break every time I get in the middle of hammering out the bevel or the rough profile of several blades & your design looks like a Solid setup & doesn't consume alot of Real-estate!!!! PLEASE post a complete build Brother & maybe dimension's, Material list !! If you can't i can just come up with my own dimensions & material list through trial/error !! Either way Thank you for the Video Brother & GOD BLESS !!

the rod at the end looks like it is driven by a cam that's located in between the 2 plates.. a bit like a car engine big end.. I think there has to be a spring too to the hammer arm so if a large item is on the anvil , the hammer can give, so as not to break..
@garylindenstein70976 ай бұрын
You have it exactly right, cam inside the plates at the back with a connecting rod. Also 2 springs in the main arm that pivot on a bolt to allow different thicknesses of material. It worked pretty good, it was fun to design and see it come to life

Instead of a cam, I believe it is more like a crankshaft. Cams can only push, crankshafts can push *and* pull.
