Mikey luvs it! This thing belongs in a MAD MAX movie. Seems to propel the ball with decent authority. Large paintballs or frangible clay balls would impact on target with a nice puff or splash. During a recent trip to the Royal Armouries in Leeds I was a little surprised to see that some crossbows, when unstrung, have the arms curving forwards. I don't know if that would give more energy in your case, or whether it would just re-set the springs the other way. I was similarly surprised to find that you can get a hydraulic hexagon crimper from eBay for < £20. With some aluminium tube that should hold your wires together. (I used one to make a rivet squeezer, the end unscrews so you can make your own attachments)

I had no idea royal armouries had ancient weapons, I only know about that place because of gun jesus's frequent trips there. It honestly seemed less about the strain on the release mechanism and more that when it came down to rest over the pin, the hole didn't line up right, since after you lifted it slightly and set it back down it then fired fine? Obviously we don't know how hard it felt to you for the trigger pull so maybe that's a factor in why you thought it was strain?
@turboconqueringmegaeagle90064 жыл бұрын
Possibly, the hole was well countersunk and the pin domed, if it's still a problem once I've got the cable fixed I'll stick some blue on it and find out

Using wire for the prod string might not be the most efficient because of weight you can try using braided fishing line if you have any. You also may just want to use 1/4" wooden pegs instead of steel. If you can make any part of the prod as light as possible it will perform better. You want the lightest weight for the string as possible. Also the trigger I think it's excellent. An idea for improvement if you could possibly find a compound release aid use that just scrap the actual release for it and get rid of the glove. The trigger pull will be far lighter if you could find some way to attach it to the trigger.
