Heard this on the radio today. I haven’t been taken by a piece of music in this way for a very long time. It’s beautiful. Thank you.

My sister Julie sang this piece in the Columbus (Ohio) symphony chorus yesterday. It was directed by Ron Jenkins... and performed magnificently. It was the first time I'd ever heard it. I was awe struck and cannot stop playing it on my phone. I'm so glad I recorded it. It's breathtakingly beautiful. Thank you for bringing so much beauty into the world.

Mr. Whitacre my name is David Trotochau, I heard this poem for the first time today and I am laying on the ground weeping, last year on April 8th my wife ascended to god as well, she passed from Stage 4 Ovarian cancer leaving me with my two autistic sons tell the gentlemen I too am looking for my light

It was a mere moment in time that lasted forever. A prologue of our life together. As if I knew you. Knew us. Almost as if I was an outsider looking into the soon to be beauty of our deepest, darkest, truest selves. A moment to show the world, a time to wonder, a future of pure bliss and tragedy. A beautiful life. What we call, a true life. For no regret was had because my life had you.

Thank you for that exquisite sentiment. It struck me deeply. Is that original or a quote from somewhere else?

this is absolutely stunning. I can sense a similar feeling of love that I felt from "i carry your heart" around 2:52 and again going into 3:22 . I cannot wait to listen to Sacred Veil in its entirety

I listened without readin the description. I read it after it finished and auto play started the piece over and now I can’t stop crying lol What a blessing it must be to have this kind of stuff just floating in you head👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

Absolutely gorgeous! Really do feel that fullness of safety and comfort, but at the same time a tinge of foreshadow pointing toward the pain that always comes with love.

The final piano passage and ending chord is reminiscent of "Prayer" by Morten Lauridsen

Are you just going to be releasing this whole piece over the course of the next few days? If so can you hurry it up, please. I need to hear the whole thing. Especially after reading the description.

It took me about five listens to fully like this movement, but I now fully like it and cannot deny the following, which is my primary reason for liking it: It's called "Home," and it feels like home--because it sounds the way I'd want a home to sound. Upon first listen, I had issues with the all-notes-at-once piano chords, the limited rhythmic activity of the piano, the sticks-out-like-a-sore-thumb recurring tonic chord, the limited range of the cello's melodic activity, the insipid use of the choir, and the one-notch-too-low dynamics. But, in the end, it's uncanny: It feels like home and therefore successfully delivers its promise. So, I have to like it. And after the fifth listen, there's now a sincerity, a peacefulness, and a beautiful sadness that reaches the soul and activates the tear ducts (at least until that unusually consonant tonic chord comes back and snaps me out of it). Another interesting thing: This movement does NOT become boring with repeated listens--quite the opposite. Thumbs up.

Very beautiful music. But I would like to add a comment on the space used as a stage. A space that looks like an abandoned church compound. I wonder where you are exactly, but I think it would be a very good idea to give it a nice update. A little cleaning and a new paint job would be refreshing and inviting. I say that because it's a beautiful place to produce music - (whether it's a simple piano, a dry guitar, a drum set or a violin).

Rebecca Rohre hi! I think they are repeating the phrase “You feel like home”. Whitacre posted an Instagram video today that mentions the meaning behind it and the context in the overall piece. Hope this helps!
