Listening to this this morning, and then got word that my next-door neighbor finally passed after several weeks of suffering. Couldn't be more appropriate for this moment.

This was the last performance that the Bob Cole Chamber Choir had the honor of giving before we had to leave school the following week. It really makes me appreciate this opportunity more than ever because I had no idea this would be the last time we would be making music together this semester. Thank you Eric Whitacre, ACDA, and the Salt Lake Tabernacle for giving us this gift of music making! For all of us, singing with our peers makes us feel whole and looking at all of my friends faces in this video really gives me the motivation to keep going. I hope it does the same for others!

I saw Eric Whitacre direct the L.A. Master Choir singing The Sacred Veil, there was a tear in every eye in the Disney Hall. A lady near me was almost choking of emotion.

I sat in the front row of the official performance at ACDA West in March. All too often we give all of the glory to the conductor, composer, and special guests of a peformance and forget to recognize each individual singer who together creates the grande tapestry. The performance was moving and I was deeply touched by the performance. I am so thankful to have heard such a beautiful representation of a view inside the personal window of a life to be remembered, and hear it in an incredible performance venue. Thank you all for your efforts. Bravo!

I am in the Capital University Chapel Choir and I just think the entirety of the Sacred Veil is the most beautiful and elegant composition of music that really reaches out to an emotional soul. Thank you for creating such a wonderful masterpiece. I am honoured to sing it. Thank you for this beautiful recording and this beautiful music.

Wow. The spirit is present, it tells of a life time coming to a close, in the warm embrace of the Lord and family. To those slipped beyond the veil they wait for us. God be with you till we meet again.

There is something in the way you direct that gives me a sense of peace. I've had a lot of directors in my life who, although masters of their art and a priviledge to work with, never fully achieved this.

This one has been a difficult piece for me to process. The lyrical and musical imagery seem born of years worth of compilations, carrying the weight thereof. I was profoundly moved by its pullings toward the melancholy and the hopeful. What can I say without sounding trite? This song has lifted the guarded mantle of my ego and spoken to the rest.

I was fortunate enough to witness this very performance at the 2020 ACDA Western Division Conference. From the climax of the previous movement, through the entirety of this, the final movement, I was in tears. There's a small body of music that gets me choked up and teary eyed, but this is the only work that has made me physically bawl my eyes out. Bravi tutti to an immaculate performance, and hats off to you, Eric and Tony Silvestri, for delivering a stunning and haunting work. I can't wait for the release of the upcoming album and the score!

Fantastic. Absolutely amazing. I saw you for the first time in Portland last week. I hope to find a choir to join that I may perform your music again. I was in middle school more than a decade ago, and I thought I should know more about the people who write the music I was singing, and I happened to pick up your "Little Birds". I found the remainder of your anthology at that time, and I've been hooked ever since. You will continue to be my favorite. Good luck, Eric. Bravo.

Classic Whitacre. There are a lot of downbeats in the melody with the word "child" on them to the point that I'm noticing, "Gee, there are a lot of downbeats in the melody," but the movement still offers classic Whitacre satisfaction. Especially nice instrument entrances, cello line, volume shape, and ending. Thumbs up.
