The first Rule the Waves 3 DLC has been announced.
Expanded Battles will allow the player to generate custom naval battles from 1890-1970.
Want to fight the Japanese in the Mediterranean with guided missile cruisers? The Germans in the Pacific with WWII battleships? You can do it all! Design your own battles of Jutland, Tsushima, or Denmark Strait with our new battle creation system. Test custom ship designs in combat with the new quick battle system using any researchable technology in the game.
Finally, refight some of the great naval battles of the 20th century with our pre-made historical scenarios like the Battle of Dogger Bank, Second Guadalcanal, Eastern Solomons, and more.

Cool! I will absolutely get this if it isn't too pricey. But what I really want is a free standing ship builder where you can choose nation and unlocked techs and build designs as you wish.

The game was already amazing fun and this looks like an excellent addition, but I just can't play it as how bright it is really hurts my eyes. Changing brightness and contrast doesn't help as then nothing can be differentiated. Could you please make a dark mode?

There's a mod you can get called sunglasses.

​@@maerto That's the charm of the game. It reminds you of the warship games you played on paper as a kid. Although allowing Workshop on steam would be a good solution for others, so people can mod the UI themselves

This is huge! Being able to actually mess around with carrier ops and missile mechanics without the consequences of a long campaign has been desperately needed.

Sounds really good! I only bought RTW3 recently and would also wish for an option where we can start the 1935 scenerio with the historical ships the nations had at the time. Also (and don't hate me for saying this!) a 3d mode for battles... and I don't mean flashy graphics - the same graphics we have now as I like them, but the ability to tilt the view and see the ships in 3d. I realise that is unlikely to happen any time soon, but got to say it! Being able to view the battle from an angle would be amazing. Think TACVIEW type thing with current graphics. Perhaps RTW6
