All fantastic idea. Lord help me. I am so discouraged and perhaps depressed over my closet situation I've let everything else go. If I were to start cleaning house or organizing everything I'd have to degrees everything. Added to the problem it's not having a range hood. So you can imagine what kind of condition my shelves are. Help! Because I am 77 now it's a lot harder for me to get energized. Climbing on ladders and that kind of stuff. Don't wait till you're my age before you make a difference.

I heard one KZbinr describe her produce in her fridge like a garden that must be tended every day. I have taken that to heart and now I rarely have to throw anything away. A good way to cook when you don’t feel like it is to throw all your random veggies into a stock pot with some herbs and spices with some sort of starch, potatoes, rice, pasta etc bring to a boil and turn down to low and let simmer for an hour or so. Now you have made dinner and cleared out your fridge.🌶

I need help! I thought maybe to get a girlfriend to start me out and help me. She would throw it in the donation box while I was trying to hold on to it most probably. LOL it would help if she would just do it for me while I'm out of the house. Seriously I need to start by trying clothes on if I don't like the fit the look the color the size Etc get rid of it. That's where to start for me. But I hate trying on clothes. If I would have tried it on before buying it I wouldn't have so many clothes that I can't wear to begin with. The bottom key we have too much!

Yes the way I was raised we don't throw anything out. We're not wasteful! If we no longer need it or use it save it for a rainy day! So that's what I have been doing for the last 10 years. And it has accumulated! Course I'm not bad to buy clothes. Most of it are given to me. You know how it is, it's usually something we wouldn't have bought. Thank you for your video. I find that instead of going shopping and buying cheap items all the time your money is better spent buying better quality items and you find you’ll love them more and get more wear out of them. I had a cousin that I noticed put their box cereal and the refrigerator. Of course they weren't able to open three or four different kind of cereal. But that worked very well for keeping it fresh. So when they eat that box they would then decide what kind from there to be used. I myself don't buy any snacks food either. If there's any snack food other than fruit. I will make it! Of course it's harder to make than it is just to have it on hand. So last is best!

I tried to eliminate buying fresh groceries to keep in the refrigerator as well. As too much of one thing it will ruin before it gets eaten. Food is expensive. And get more so by the day. I'm a very conservative person. Raised not to waste food in particular!

Well baby if you get rid of everything. You won't have anything left. LOL and therefore you will go shopping again. You'll always need washing powder softeners Etc don't get rid of what you have extra just keep it and use it then when you run out you can replace it , hopefully!

Decluttering, cleaning and organising feels great, but it seems we all have a little problem with keeping everything nice and tidy long term. I found that adding extra shelving to any cabinet helped us to have a home for everything and keep everything organised. Having lots of drawers of the right hight is also a must. It's important that items are not piled on top of each other.

As a professional organizer, I don't tell people they don't have to limit what they have, they just need to have a home for everything. If you have enough drawers to for miscellaneous items, that's great! I do encourage people to eliminate things, but these are things that are not serving them anymore. If you have cords for items you no longer own, that's a opportunity to get rid of them.

One thing I have to say, is I really hope you invest in some disposable gloves from Costco , they have a nice size box at a good price and different sizes, either that or Amazon. Please, please, don’t let those chemicals on to your skin, especially while you’re pregnant. Use disposable latex free gloves, they fit nicely and you can throw them away when done or in between cleanings. All the best ❤

My living room and eating area are together as one room and I have a small bedroom. That is my home. Teenage living? No. I am a 50 year old disabled woman on a tight budget. No kids and no husband.

You really made me feel better about my closet. Truthfully my closet looks very similar to your's and I've been decluttering as well. I'm alot like You are, I like to shop, and I tend to hold on to things but I have donated and gave friends /family alot of clothes and shoes, both mine and my son's. I've gave away 5-6 big trash bags full of clothes and a couple full of shoes. Then threw some clothes away that was old, stained, worn out ect. So I think I've done pretty good. I love how you explained the way you look at decluttering now, if you need something, you can always buy it when the time comes and you don't have to hold on to something if you're not wearing it often. ❤ It kinda helps you to let go of things a little easier I think. I guess my guilty pleasure would be shoes and maybe jeans 👖👠👟👡🥿🥾👢👞🩰👟🥿👠 Your closet looks great! 🙂

While watching your Home Organization Ideas 2022 you mentioned that some of the plastic set of drawers stuck ~ try running a candle over the sides that are sticking. The wax can help them slide easier. I do this on drawers, slide out bins in cabinets and even my trash can rail that slides the can out and in from under the sink. Really enjoying your videos, but there is no way I can afford the items you use, so I go to Dollar Tree to try to find something similar

Love your ideas. I started organizing my cabinets (while watching several of your videos) so I can actually get to my most used items. My biggest problem with organizing is cost. I've tried the cheap shoe boxes with lids that come in a set of 10. They're ok for some things but I have found that small bottles and things that need to stand up often fall over because the box bottoms are not flat. I also have tried the cheap plastic paper trays for printer paper and card stock. They keep collapsing and are a pain. I have seen metal one piece paper organizers at the thrift stores and I think I will grab one the next time I see one. I do lots of crafts so I have a great deal of supplies that I want to organize. The larger items (paints, adhesives., paint brushes, larger packages, etc) have been put into cardboard file boxes and labeled. Very functional but not see-though. I also have several of those metal adjustable shelving units that have optional wheels to move them around as needed. I use the shelving for bulk paper goods (which are stored in the garage), craft supplies, and as a pantry in my small dining room. The pantry isn't very pretty to look at so I am planning to get some PVC pipe, elbows or T connectors (to place on the upright poles to hold everything up) and put up curtains (check the thrift stores)or fabric to hide everything. Using shower curtain rings should allow the curtains to easily open and close. It's going to take a little time to get all I need but I am looking forward to having a nice looking area when someone comes in. Keep up the inspirational videos!

Too much clothes that I can't wear! I have more things than I have room for. Therefore it stays cluttered. But most everything else that I own I use. I just need room for my sewing things, and I need room for my artwork. The rest of it is Kitchen , bathroom. Not too bad huh. LOL

Woke up to your video abt 6:15am. Started just watching and decided to get up and work on more decluttering. The comments you made abt not going out to work in the office, so do I need 20 pairs of work pants and some times it's just ok to make a purchase if you feel like you really want or need. I know it's a poverty mindset that makes me hold on to things wayyyyy past how long I should but I'm motivated because I don't like the feeling of not being able to buy something new or having room to put it which is my main issue. Preparing for 2023, donated a 13 gal bag of pocket books, pairs of boots, shoes (heels 😢) and clothing. Thanks

Hi Michelle, new to your channel. Really enjoying getting to know you through your videos. Such a sweet family. Love all the advice and motivation. I have a love/hate about decluttering lol😂. I probably have a legging addiction. I pretty much live in them.😊

Hi, I do have the OXO brand of cereal containers. I actually grab them from homegoods and so they were so much cheaper. They were $5.99 each. I Love them

I keep my technology boxes in case you need to return or exchange them. I think I've heard a 6 month minimum to holding onto original packaging. Happy New Year. Good luck

I had a similar problem, who to give discarded things to, where to put them. In recent years, reuse centers have been established and it's an easier process for me now. The first step, however, is to buy much less and carefully consider what to buy.
