I swear Home was really ahead of their time, sounds like an indie rock song from the early 2010s

It's great to hear all the positive comments about Home. I happened to listen to the album which I've had since its release last night. It takes me back to the time when I had just started work. It was late summer at the time, and remember the warm autumn evenings getting into the 'Alchemist' . I come on KZbin and what do you know, there's a fellow appreciation society out there!!!!!!¦-)

Hey, I too was at that gig - I too bought the album - I too used to play it over and over again - used to have fun trying to work out the guitar parts - I think they surprised a lot of people that night in The Apollo - thanks for putting this up efrain 1956

Such an under-rated band. Not sure how I got into them as I was born in '66, (other than me and my best friend had older brothers). Today's music pales in comparison with this era. :-(

I've got their Radio2 in concert on cassette somewhere intoduced by Bob Harris, it was around the time The Alchemist was released. (I think it's available on CD from the BBC) I was playing football with them at the time for Rockfield Studios where they recorded the album. We played in the London Musical Industries League. Micky Stubbs was a decent centre forward, Dave Skillin who co-wrote the Alchemist played too, Pique(Pick) Withers later of Dire Straights, Pat Moran, John Anthony producer.

Thank you for your comment. I am both honored and pleased being that Mick Stubbs was your dad. By the way, do you have a cousin named James? It will be my pleasure to continue uploading the rest of the album, just bear with me. Again, thanks.

Wow...all these posts from six years ago. I had this album too, and another one. Just never really got into it until suddenly recently. Mentioned in the comments was Rockfield Studios. It just seems that every great album from that era had a direct link to Rockfield Studios.

For everyone's information: the splendid reissue label Esoteric Recordings have recently released this album on cd. Available through them directly and / or Amazon[dot]co[dot]uk Am listening to it now for the first time (because the description on the Esoteric site got me intrigued) and have to say I like what I hear ....

i think their self titled album from 72 is the best,containing a brilliant single fancy lady,hollywood child,which amazingly flopped,home should have been big.

Hi guys - I loved this album. Does anyone know where I can download it in MP3?
@geozipper4 жыл бұрын
Google KZbin to Mp3 converter & use one of the sites. You can download this KZbin sound to your computer, put it on your iTunes playlist or whatever, then burn a CD if you want. This is how I make a lot of CDs of music I haven't heard to play in my car while going on a 'smoke' country road drive where I get lost in the backwoods & lost in the music. It's always a trip finding my way home ! Note that KZbin sound has no frequencies above 15 thousand hertz, while most CDs go into the 20 thousand range for that 'air' backdrop... still it's not very noticeable at all.
