This is the best machinists channel on KZbin. There are many good channels that show you what to do but this is the only channel I've come across that combines the procedure with the fundamentals to the degree you do. Your students are fortunate and I count myself among them.

Marc I love the commentary while you are working on the machines. You likely do not realize how much information you pass on in your videos. I always learn something new (and usually it is unexpected) from your lessens. You have years of work experience that you take for granted, but thankfully you share the tips developed over your career while you are demonstrating the current project. Thank you!

Thanks again for the great video. As a "senior" I have learned a lot from your videos. Machining is a new trade for me and even though I will never work in the field (I'm retired) I find the knowledge from you to be so valuable. Keep up these great videos please.

I have a special request if I may, wondering if you might be able to do a quick video on techniques for accurately positioning a hole on a milling machine Locating and positioning challenge, I'm looking to make some jigs and fixtures. I cant find very many good videos on this subject or on best practices and would love to know your thoughts on best practices and techniques and your thoughts on expectations of different techniques regarding best practices and techniques. I'm thinking things like using a spotting drill, vs center drill vs, maybe boring vs who knows starting with an endmill. Got to be a best practice out there shoot for tightest tolerances that can be made say for .75 inches center to center(emphasis on Accurate locating position of holes). best technique wins kinda thing. or comparison to see what is the best practice or how to get the tightest tolerances. ;) appreciate your videos and experiences.

Hmmm, I have accurate 0.500" & 0.250" pins as well as the same sizes of reamers plus special quenching oil, but I don't have a parting tool.

Hi Robert, I just felt like showing an alternative method. It was a good opportunity to explain the importance of maintaining good reference surfaces. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to write. P.S. I get the second degree humor, it's not what you you ay but how you say (or write) it that counts. You made me chuckle, thanks.

If you were going to have to use the 4 jaw chuck anyway, why start with 3 jaw and then go to 4 jaw instead of doing the whole job in the 4 jaw. Thanks for the learning.
