Awesome mix of tests! I really like the Ademco code 3, for fire. Same with the other interior sounder, which I like more.

I usually just use test spray to test my smoke alarms, but a fog machine works as well (I have 2 since I do an annual Halloween display every year). Would be cool to see more videos on that security system, though I understand if that’s not possible. Was always curious as to what siren that was in the basement, it’s the same one I have on my room system.

That’s cool to do! My family would get pissed off if I did that.

My house has First Alert slim smoke detectors and they’re standalone. My house is built in 1982 and doesn’t have interconnected devices.

I enjoyed the video, just a word of advice if you can try using a hair dryer or a heat gun to test the heat detectors also heat detectors have a 15 year life span according to the NFPA.

I thought it was cool how you used a fog machine to set off your smoke alarms. I’m too afraid to do that in my house. Although I do have smoke spray cans I use instead on them. I have one of those COPE-IC’s outside my laundry room that goes off all the time along with the others in my house

Nice walkthrough! Just a quick safety tip for next time, use a stick lighter for testing heat detectors cuz if you leave one of those little Bic lighters on for too long you'll burn yourself.
@thomaswilkins81683 ай бұрын
Or you could just use a hair dryer
@elevators_of_southern_ontario3 ай бұрын
@@thomaswilkins8168 Most hair dryers are not hot enough to set off heat detectors as they are usually set to activate at 60-70°C. There is something similar called a heat gun which is just like a hair dryer, but the forced air is a lot hotter.

2:25 My state (ND) only recently started requiring heat alarms in the garage. My house is from 2012 and there are no alarms in the garage.
