Quotable from this video: "it's a temporary solution to the naked wall and when you're ready to remove, just detach the frame then pull the foam tab to release the Command Hanging Strips" - @ToriTothStager
In this video I wanted to share with you a wall art product I always use in my home stagings. You can find it in most hardware or big box stores and it not only saves time, but it can save your walls from a bunch of holes.
The product is command picture hanging strips. This is one of the simplest ways to decorate your walls that's quick and easy. And the best part you don't have to worry about nail holes, cracked plaster or any sticky residue.
So this product comes in different sizes, Small command strips hold most 8" x 10" frames, medium strips hold most 18" x 24" frames and large strips hold most 24" x 36" frames. The varying sizes allow can hold up to 4 pounds. Take these weight restrictions seriously and use the proper size so your wall art doesn't fall and get damaged.
Okay so let me show you how they work:
First seperate the strips and attach the fastners together until your hear them snap. Then remove one of the liners and place the strip on your frame sticky side down.
Apply the command strips to the other side of the frame, as well. Check the box to determine how many strips are needed for your wall art. Then remove the other liner and place on the wall pushing securely.
Then remove the first layer of the strip and add pressure to the strips on the wall, it's recommended to leave alone for one hour before attaching the frame to the wall strip.
This product is amazing for staging because it provides a temporary solution to the naked wall and when you're ready to remove, just detach the frame then pull the foam tab to release the strip....and your wall is still in perfect condition.
The command picture hanging strips is just one of several damage free hanging products this company has, and its great for decorating, especially for a photo gallery wall or like I did here with these light weight mirrors. So make sure to try the strips or if your project requires their hooks and clips too.

Love Command Hanging products!! Recently we helped decorate my parents new home using Command products. We actually weighed some of the pictures to determine which Command products to purchase. I found I liked the Command hanging strips better than the hooks.

I absolutely love these picture hanging strips and all the other hooks that are in the Command line. I'm retired now and rent so I use many of them in each room. I just wish they were a little less expensive here in Canada. Love your videos!

Thanks for the video. I was not sure how to use them, but now I do : ) In your next video, I would mention to clean the wall first with alcohol before putting the strip on the wall. Also, how to remove the strip off the wall without damaging it would be helpful too. Question: How to use the Command products in the shower and bath would be great! Best Wishes.

Thank you so much for this GREAT video demonstration!! I just have one question... what if once you get it up you see that the picture is not exactly straight. How are you able to adjust it to make it straight? Do you have to remove the strips and start over with new strips? That can be quite expensive. Thank you again this video was exactly what I was looking for so I could be sure that I would do it right the first time.😊

Isn't it a bit of overkill as well as being more expensive to use 4! It says on packet that one set will hold 7kgs! Also I think it is probably better in terms of using gravity/hold to use them vertically instead of horizontally as demonstrated in the official 3M KZbin vid. Thanks for sharing - good to see a real person demonstrating rather than just written instructions on 3M vid x

Use 2 people, one to hold the picture straight & one to mark the top corners with a pencil. use a level if you choose. Then when affixing to wall have the other person stand back & make sure you are sticking to the wall where your pencil marks. I can't see doing this except with small pics without 2 people!

I believe that most of the poor reviewer comment's are due to not using these correctly! If you clean both the wall and frame with alcohol and hold the object to the wall for the 30 sec. and then separate them and press each of them firmly for another 30 sec. and wait a hour then rehang your frame it will work perfectly, it has been said that they only work on painted walls, but I actually hung my 7 point buck (plaque) rack that is protruding 11 inches from the wall and has a 8" spread and it is affixed to vinyl wallpaper and has been hanging for the better part of a week now!

When I placed it on the wall and pressed like you said.....I can't get it to come loose now. It is really stuck! Don't think it will fall but what am I suppose to do to take it down? I think these might suffice for temporary home staging, but I wouldn't trust it to stay up permanently. I also have concerns about it taking the paint off the walls.

It says very clearly on the instructions that you have to use rubbing alcohol to clean the wall surface before you use the strips. Why don’t you mention that?
