That Mirool is a good solid boat with tons of character anybody could be proud of has been abundantly obvious from the start. Naturally your efforts have reflected your affections to the extent that her condition now proclaims them and she is a vessel the most fastidious owner could be proud to call home as well as sail. You have done a terrific job guys and your willingness to share negative as well as positive aspects of restoring an old boat will undoubtedly inspire and be of benefit to many aspirants yet to adopt the cruising lifestyle!

Great job on all the projects guys. The curtains are a nice touch. Just a tip :- put the rings on the curtain wire and the hooks in the walls. That way when you pull the wires out to wash the curtains they just slide out without snagging the material. Hope to see you sailing soon. ATB Stay safe. Fair winds & regards from the UK

Knowing your yacht is still in it's renovation process you have truly done a miraculous job replacing and explaining , thank you for taking me along . Large windows more brightness less privacy and you are so handy sewing make small curtains for small rods for each window or can you install one way glass to see out yet not in.

I don't think this is the most extensive refit I've seen on KZbin, but I do believe it might be the most extensive refit I've seen _concluded_ on KZbin. Congratulations! Now we should start a pool to bet on how long Troy can look at those windows before he makes a template and reroutes them. I'm saying 8 months.

Super nice! Idea: Instead of using tongue depressors as spacers, squeeze a sausage of the glue/sealant on a piece of wood or metal and let it set. Then cut that thing to small discs as thick as you like your spacers to be. Use these discs as spacers and leave them there, it's the same material.

When we traveled across the Nullarbor in 1969 there was no such thing as window tinting. We travel in a Falcon station wagon, Mum, her brother, 5 children and a dog. Mum made curtains just like that for the back of the car and on the rear doors so it would be more comfortable for us kids and Scotty.

Troy, Great job on the boat and have really enjoyed your series. Regarding the polyester resin/gray material used as filler around the windows. During the 70's sailboat building boom in Southern California, I worked as an interior finish carpenter for Ericson Yachts and Hans Christian. To attach hull battens for ceiling, creating fillets prior to glass bonding, fairing, for all sorts of applications we used a product with the technical name, "mish mash" This was long before micro-balloons, etc. It was catalyzed polyester resin and asbestos fibers. We had 15-20 pound bags of asbestos fibers everywhere and mixed it in 5 gallon buckets with the resin. A 1/2" drill motor with a paddle mixer would create quite the white cloud until all the fibers were wetted out. I would not be surprised if the filler around your windows was mish-mash. When chipping or grinding you might look for the white fibers in the grayish resin. Be careful! Again, great job on a veteran boat. Ed Z.

I think the added bolts onto the new windows is a potential leak and stress point onto the polycarbonate. On light aircraft poly carb in used as well and ALWAYS crack and fail around the bolt holes. Bonded only units never crack and any debonding is Cleary seen and give lots of warning. Saying that your attention to detail is amazing and never even hint at being rushed which is unusual on these channels.

04:54 and 20:26 It´s so funny. Bushcraft, outdoor and hiking got really popular here in Germany. On youtube or in other social media there are many experts talking about really good knives. Experts in Germany, the next Town or village mostly is only 1mile away: Opinel an Mora are crab. You need a really good (expensive) Knive for outdoor and survival. Troy and Pasci, sailing around Australia being alone for weeks, rebuilding a sailing boat: Using Opinel and Mora every day.
