A true shame. Someone so cultured. So reminiscent of Dame Janet Baker. Having to perform in these appalling conditions. You deserve so much more than this. I absolutely adore the warmth and technique of your voice.

Absolutely gorgeous voice. Probably the single most enchanting voice since the days of Rosa Ponselle! But what’s with the changing background though?

what a beautifully, etherial and pure sound. You studied very well.

Never mind the crowd: your singing sounds so familiar (for those of us who cherish tradition without rejecting the present - and vice versa) yet so anachronistic. I love it but that’s because I’m quite an anachronistic composer myself. Keep going and look back 😊

So disrespectful! Couldn't the crowd take a moment, be quiet and enjoy the gentle caressing of their ears by an angelic voice?

Indeed, very disrespectful and childish. I travel a fair bit for work, and I can say this rudeness is far more prevalent in the US than abroad.

I believe that the British Library involved in this recording is in London. Although there are certainly folks here in the US who are disrespectful, you can’t blame us for this crowd not listening! 🤗

Please make a simple and efficient video guide for recordings of famous (and not so famous) pieces, so that we can exchange our hearing habits! Best, if these recordings are available (on KZbin or Streaming). This would be so helpful in spreading the idea.

A historic song, no doubt. If I recall correctly (I could be mixing things up), this was the song María Malibrán chose for the music lesson in the first performance of _Il Barbiere di Siviglia_ in New York City. This was also the last song Joan Sutherland sang in public. Of course, Home, Sweet Home was the song Patti sang in front of Abraham Lincoln at the White House the first time he resumed his public life after the death of one of his sons.
