It seems like mechanical horns are MUCH loud than "traditional nowadays" piezoelectric horns. Maybe that's because of the year gap. Mechanical horns were primarily used in the 70s to about the early 90s (they still were used throughout the 90s, but not as frequently I believe). Electronic horns (like the Simplex 4901-9822 or the 4903-9236, or the 4903-9238) are ALSO much louder. BUT, they were used in the mid-90s throughout (I don't know when they stopped or IF they stopped). Besides THAT, mechanical horns are LOUDER and not too satisfying to listen to at all lol. Fun to mess with, but yeah. Also, GREAT video by the way! 😉

+Zachary Fleck Oh yeah. My Simplex 4051 cause a little mini earthquake in my room lol (my room is quite small though) 😂. My Simplex 2091-9806 is also just too darn LOUD! I wanna call it my loudest alarm in my collection, but then there's the 4051 haha. Also, if you ever try to get the 9806, the B4 models I hear aren't as LOUD as the B2 or B1 models. I have the B2 model. I believe the B4 models came out in the mid to late 80s, while the B2 and B1 came out before then (mine was made in 1980). Just a little side note 😉

I don't live there anymore. My current system is only a demo board because I rent, makes it harder to make videos.. Maybe I can look at it again when I have a house of my own.
