Make sure your sconces (and any light fixtures from Amazon etc) are certified for installation in Canada (there’s a sticker on it) or else often home insurance won’t cover your home if the fixture causes a fire. I had no idea till my dad (electrician) told me. Love the decor in the spare room - great mix of colours and textures

@@carla.h.skinner Yep we have always checked for this. These are also not hardwired sconces- they have rechargeable light bulbs in them so less of a hazard. But my dad's a fire chief so we know what to look for with that kinda fire hazard stuff 😊

Honestly I've realized with owning a home you have to pick your spending points for decor and curtains are just not one of them for me 😅 I honestly love IKEA and Amazon curtains so much!

I completely agree, you have to decide what’s important for you to spend money on! I, unfortunately, love an embroidered curtain moment 😂. But yes we definitely normally do more budget friendly curtain for most of the house, especially if it’s a solid/simple look!

@@nedtechgirl It is a sherwin williams paint colour 😊 I just get it color matched at Home Depot using Behr paint because it's the only paint store nearby!

Love the guest bedroom especially the art work! I think the mirror is nice but it's hard to tell the height from a video. Are you planning on getting side tables in the future?

Thank you! No side tables for the space- we don't have enough room and I wouldn't want to cram the wall. For the once or twice a year we have guests over I don't think we need them. Plus we have a whole other side of the room that we haven't done anything with yet so the goal is to find a dresser and people can use that to put their items on :)

Love it! What about one of those vintage wood standing mirrors in that corner? I see them on Marketplace fairly often in my area, and I think a bit more wood tone would look great in that room :)

I thought about it but we actually have a wood vanity on the other side of the room so I don't want to do clashing wood tones! I defintely have a vision in my head of one of those ornate antique gold mirrors but a wood standing mirror could be good if it was the same wood tone as the vanity!

Nope! All the food in the the back room is sealed so it's pretty hard for mice to get into it and the few things that are open are in a glass containers 😊 It's actually probably the best sealed room (no holes, cracks etc) so no mice have been able to get in!
