“In order to understand the appeal of NASCAR, we have to talk about soldiers, astronauts, and prestige. Being a soldier comes with a certain amount of prestige. Most people find their sacrifice admirable but you dont have to search far to find people who disagree. You’d be hard-pressed, however to find anyone who doubts the prestige of an astronaut. You can talk about intelligence and science degrees and technical skills all you want but the fact of the matter is that soldiers fight against other soldiers in man made wars while astronauts fight against the surly bonds of nature itself. It takes bravery to volunteer yourself to go fight in some foreign far-off land, but it takes a whole another level of bravery to strap yourself into a pressurized metal canister and fly out of the top of the sky. Astronauts have so much prestige because they come the closest to kissing the snarling jaws of certain death. Theres no denying that war is also deadly, but humans have been fighting and killing each other since the dawn of man. Its easy to understand the nature of warfare. Its difficult to understand the limits of nature itself and nothing is more terrifying then what we dont understand...Ah who am I kidding, this is a dumb analogy...NASCAR Drivers are nothing like astronauts. I mean come on... *Have you ever seen a NASCAR fly?* “

i was lucky enough to discover this artist in my mid teens. HOME was probably the only synthwave musician or music artist in general that got me into listening in an album format. before that - i was ignorant & didn't even knew albums were a thing but hey, better late than never i supposed. his music was also my gateway to the more chill, ambient, & mostly instrumental side of electronic music which furthered expanded my knowledge of styles and music preferences. Thank you Randy Goffe aka HOME for creating magical & timeless pieces such as this. i've been listening to your music since 6th grade. you're music had helped me through tough times & hardships. it has no lyrics but they speak directly to my soul. your entire discography is literally the soundtrack to my life 💚

I'm an existentialist, and if I had one music to describe the theory of existentialism, this would be it. It's mesmerizing, but also leaves you a feeling that your left out, you didn't open the door to something that you dearly wanted so long to see, but at the same time, you feel glad that you didn't. Kind of like a dream, its better if it stays that way.
@MarMaxGaming Жыл бұрын
That’s super interesting! To me, it feels like finally reaching your goal and these are the rising, echoing thoughts as your journey comes rushing back to you… then when the bass kicks in, that’s when you know this isn’t a dream, this is real life. You did it. ❤
@derekg5563 Жыл бұрын
@LunringNouela: I didn't really think of this until you mentioned something similar, but in addition to the obvious feeling of accomplishment, there is also the added sense that you went against the norm somehow, or did something no one thought you could do or in a way that people told you was impossible, something like that, and you had to believe in your own abilities despite the gaslighting, and you really showed them and proved it to them and yourself. You redefined what was possible and it's both happy and surreal at the same time. You persevered and trusted in yourself, and you proved every doubter wrong. There is an especially personal feel to it, like it's speaking directly to the achiever. When it comes to speedrunning, it can reflect that even if not many people know or understand what you achieved, you do, and the internal motivation and gratification is probably especially strong for people who compete in such a niche, overlooked endeavor. Unlike celebrities, they still can't go outside and constantly be applauded, but they don't need applause, because they keenly understand the amazing thing they achieved. The second part of the track is usually left out by Summoning Salt, and the first time I heard it I was surprised that he leaves it out because it's quite a bit more beautiful than the first part, which is saying a lot. It augments the message of the first part many times over and connects you to it on another level.

Used to see this red door all the time in my dreams when I was a kid would always be hidden somewhere in my dream no matter where I was, in the apocalypse, at the bottom of the ocean, another planet, a mansion filled with horrible monsters. Sometimes it was hard to spot sometimes when I seen it my dream did a kind of pan in on it, but even in the few instances where I had control over myself in my dreams which is rare, I still didn’t open it I knew no matter what I’d regret it. Weather it was terrifying or just nothing at all I figured it was better not too. I haven’t seen it in any dreams since I was maybe like 10 or 12 but I can remember them all like it was yesterday.

I've think I've cracked it. Theres a reason why Summoning Salt plays this song and THIS song in particular in every speedrun video. Its because of the once quiet beginnings all adventures start off with and with the rise of popularity and determination, it become an life. That's what speedruning is to him and many others, a life and adventure we all take to push our limits. The video of the moon landing just goes so well with this idea. I know it may just because he likes it and I don't blame him for that's, but it's just a small theory I have. It's a song that feels welcoming when ever one accomplished something of a great milestone. I'd to thank Summoning Salt for bringing me here. If I ever get to meet him one day...I would shake his hand. Thanks man and thank you Home for making this song. This is Houston, signing off.

This is Choco Mountain. It's the third course in the Flower Cup in Nintendo's Mario Kart 64, and honestly, it doesn't look too crazy at first glance. It's just a brown course with a white sky, no crazy upside-down or underwater driving like in the newer games. The walls are practically right on top of you, so you don't really have much room to navigate around the track. But you see, this course has a bit of a reputation. There's a group of people who've been battling each other for the past couple of decades to finish the course in world record time. What attracts these gamers to Choco Mountain in particular? Well, probably the fact that this course can be absolutely and completely broken. 0:27

This song really does feel like finally reaching that goal you've been working towards for years. It's no wonder Summoning Salt uses it so much- I think it really does embody that spirit of constant perseverance that drives speedrunners to do what they do. Makes sense, given the name.

I can just imagine my childhood. The shows I watched the paths I took, the friends I made, don’t give up even if life is at its worst as you. Yes you will someday find your place.
