Man, when i first jumped into all-grain from extract brewing your videos helped me so much. Now with time and space restrictions I've just purchased a Braumeister and I'm doing my first brew using it tomorrow. Once again here i am learning from you. Thanks, Great video.

This is the video I'll now tell people to watch who want to know how this type of system works. it's clear, concise, interesting and very professionally done. Terrific job! And although I built my own copy of one of these, which I'm very pleased with, knowing what I do now I'd have bought a Braumeister in the first place without hesitation. It was fun to build a copy but the time, effort and money involved to do it PROPERLY isn't any cheaper and may even cost more than a Braumeister. I also give credit to Speidel as a company for the upgrades its done since it first came out by obviously listening to their customers. I've only just finished watching this video of yours but I enjoyed it so much I'm heading to the subscribe button right now :-0

You could weigh the empty fermenter, subtract that from the weight of the filled fermenter and dived that by the gravity. Than you just get the approx. volume.

If you get hose y-piece, connect one end to the spiggot (the side with two connections) and then run a hose from the side with the single port out to the fermenter you should find that the open port pulls in air as the wort flows past, might be a little more convenient.

Try to get your mash ph between 5.2 and 5.4. Will interact with your hops better and create a cleaner beer over all. You want to create the ph environment for your yeast. You will be able to tell the difference 10 fold.

No filter and no whirlpool indeed! I only used an whirlfloc tablet and let the wort settle for 10 min after cooling. All the trub is on the bottom of the BM. Thanks for the kind comment and question. 🍻 cheers 🍻

Hey, nice vid!! Do you filter away the hops before adding the wort in the fermantor?
@homebeerbrewery7 жыл бұрын
Marcus Danielsson Thanks! No I don't filter the wort at all. The hop particles will drop to the bottom after the cooling is finished. I use also a wirhlfloc tablet. The wort will be clear for sure. Cheers and thanks for the comment!
@marcusdanielsson57577 жыл бұрын
homebeerbrewery Thank's for quick answer! Okey, so do you reuse the yeast for another batch later, since the hops are in the yeast/turb and might give taste to the second batch? Or maybe there's no taste of that hops anyway? :)
@homebeerbrewery7 жыл бұрын
Marcus Danielsson I didn't taste any off flavors after an experiment I recently did. Please check my channel for that video. I used a huge load of yeast that time. Normally I use a fresh sachet of yeast. Just give it a try yourself! Cheers

Hey just a quick question why do you use 27.5litres for your mash? Some formulas suggest only 2.5litrs per kg of grain. I’m in between which to do
@homebeerbrewery4 жыл бұрын
Just do what you like to do, you can count on your brewing software and mash thickness. I do it this way, not sure why. Just give both a try and taste and measure if there is a difference between both ways I suggest :-)

Why do u heat the chiller so it doesn’t drop the wort temp? Isn’t that the whole point of its use? Just put it in when ready to use
@homebeerbrewery Жыл бұрын
Boiling it for a few minutes sterilizes it. If there is time left for the boil a cold chiller will drop de boil down. That’s why. But I agree your method does work as well! Cheers
@ringoschryers7 жыл бұрын
Verder topkanaal!
@homebeerbrewery7 жыл бұрын
Beer craft at home Hoi! Proost!

Hello I just bought the BM 20L(have yet to brew on it) and I was wonder if you could Answer a quick question. What is your average boil off rate. Thanks! Have a good weekend
@homebeerbrewery7 жыл бұрын
mattzx77 It's usually between 2 and 2,5 liters at a 60 minute boil. It depends on the weather, in the winter you will have more condensation so also more "boil off". Just see what's happening in your case. Cheers and have fun with the Braumeister!
@Adol6667 жыл бұрын
Ty for the quick response. I tested everything out today to make sure it works. No problems except for the leaky tap lol. Mine leaks in a different place then yours though. On the underside. Not by the gasket but closer to the tap. Just going to put a dab of food grade sealent on it for now till i get a new tap. Thanks for the great vids. I know its not easy

what's the amount of evaporated wort? it seemed like it wasn't boiling
@gustavoorsolin6 жыл бұрын
I watched the video to get to know the equipment. Is that all the boiling it achieves? Probably not... Without a vigorous boil you won't get all the bitterness out of hops (heat is necessary activate alpha acids) and probably won't get rid of DMS and related off-flavors (that would make your beer taste like boiled vegetables).

Great videos! I was happy to see you return to the Braumeister as a fellow owner. I've been having issues with wort fountains, what crush size are you using on your mill? Your mash looked like it was perfect. Cheers!
@homebeerbrewery7 жыл бұрын
Aaron Weiser I will measure it for you. The trick is to only crack the grain and not mill it. I adjusted my mill with 1 grain at the time, just a squeeze is enough to crack it. A lot of powder isn't good. Cheers

Thanks. I appreciate the tip and look forward to hearing what your measurement is.

I think you ought to find the least complicated way to brew brew. This is a bit too complicated. I don't see much advantage of using one vessel to mash and boil versus two vessels one for mashing and one for boiling wort.Removing the inner sleeve that holds the mash is the problem. If you have to do it by hand ,the procedure is tricky and somewhat dangerous. That crane is cool but really?Electricity has some advantages over propane like you don't have to run down to get more propane every now and then. But I'm thinking if your making 10 gal of beer it's going to take too long to boil the wort and heat up the water for the mash. I can see this might be good for apartment dwellers without a garage or outdoor space to brew.
