Good to see you back again! And now (in the future) you will have a brewing helper - your little girl! In olden times in England female brewers were called 'Brewsters' Cheers!!!

Excellent work Glen, really enjoyed seeing your new setup being put into practice. You've successfully made me jealous. Haha, all good, & glad that it's all working out for you mate. Great to see your little girl, hopefully she will get interested in brewing and be able and willing to help the ol' man out in his brewing adventures. Thanks for the share, all the best from South Oz. Cheers.

I put my co2 bottle outside the keezer. The gauge reads better in normal temperature. My gauge wouldn’t go down until the very end and it would drop to empty without warning. Plus you will gain the extra space. Cheers!

Brad Watson You are right, putting the co2 tank outside the keezer has many advantages, I did that with my previous keezer too (keezer build is on my YT channel) unfortunately that keezer died way to early and I couldn't get spare parts. I will change this refrigerator to a nice keezer in the future. Thanks for your comment and information! Cheers

Very nice, I guess the beer is high quality. How much does this BRAUMEISTER 50 L cost. Or how much money is needed for all necdessary equipment to brew. Thanks a lot.
@homebeerbrewery
@homebeerbrewery 6 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you for the comment. The Speidel Braumeister 50L costs about €2050 It's not easy to say how much the costs tthere are for the complete setup. You can do it so different ways. You need a grain mill ( or you just buy milled grains ) and some other stuff like a spoon and fermeter, hose and maybe a secondary fermenter. Homebrewing can be done sooooo many ways, no one is the best one. Just find your own way to it. Like the way of storing the beer before serving it: do you want it to keg it or bottle it? Cheers anyway and all the best!

Hey Glenn, I just got a braumeister and I have been struggling with really bad efficiency. Typically I mash like on my Herms - 63 C for 40 mins. But is see you do 70 minutes which is really long. Is this something I should also be doing when using a braumeister? Thanks
@homebeerbrewery
@homebeerbrewery Жыл бұрын
With a BM the grain crush is very important, I use the mill setting 1,2mm and never had any stuck mash or fountains. 40 mins looks to me like a bit short, can you give it a try with 60 mins? Did you do a iodine test to see if the conversation was completed? Pushing the grain bill to the max is also a reason in my cases of a bad efficiency. Sorry to hear you have a bad experience with the BM. Please let me know if you found the problem. Cheers

Thomas Wenger I personally don't have the issue of clogging the pump with this amount of hops when added during the boil. Adding hops during the cooling process is a problem for sure, the hop pallets doesn't dissolve and remains pallets, when 1 pallet get sucked in the pump the pump wouldn't work anymore. Cheers!

@homebeerbrewery
@homebeerbrewery 6 жыл бұрын
Hoi!

That sounds Bitter to me. Do you have a high level of Chloride in your water ?

catscats50 The fibal beer should be about 60 / 65 IBU's. As far as I know we don't have chloride in our water, our tapwater in The Netherlands is really good. I can look it up for you if you like? Cheers :-)

homebeerbrewery. I always thought that because we have very low minerals in our water in Dore Village in Yorkshire that it wasn't a problem but our Sulphate level is much higher than our Chloride level making beer with lots of late addition hops very bitter (technically astringent). If that was a problem for you, you would be able to taste if for sure.
