Hi, my naem is Ling. I donno how to say how greatful me is.... I mean, I can’t express how grateful I am to be in this short! ♡ The entire (very young yet dedicated) JinnyboyTV production team was so fun and comfortable to work with, not forgetting my multitalented co-actor Nick Davis. And Awwhh, it’s so heartwarming reading all the comments - Thank you! Thank you! (though I’m only a small part of this ‘masterpiece’ some of you called it) Share us more of your thoughts so we could do better (if there’s a next project together) *wink*

this is why i disliked the video and the female character seems a little slutty or gentle way - throwing over herself too much which in real life don’t really happen all the time, unless drunk in a night club?

Jacky Phantom its the character’s personality , i didnt mention anything about the slang or accent. anyways its just my 2cents abt this short film and storyboard.

I’m kind of agreed with the logic of some scenes and storyline are a bit off compared in reality. Yet if the female lead is not that enthu, no way this short film was able to be produced. And it’s quite uncommon for the character being able to comprehend what the banana telling her in whole lots of conversations, yet it’s a fake story, so I assume she’s very talented in English language, somewhat gifted😂😂Same applied to the fake banana

- She's so enthusiastic because she already knows him from the mother. She is eager to bring him to all the places the mother wanted him to see. - There are many Malaysians who understand a certain language but can't speak it well. If you notice their conversations, they don't fully understand the whole thing of what the other person says but tend to pick up key words which they understand.

This film got me choked up bad, but in a truly moving sensation. I feel this is a particularly common tragedy for most of us asians, although im sure anyone else who had their families immigrate into a different country can relate. I finally got to visit my home country and met my Mother’s family for the first time, and although we never got to go to her hometown I could sense this sensation being portrayed in the film. It’s sad knowing how far they’ve managed to push, and in our own rightful struggles to fight for our own spot, we often forget to appreciate them too especially when they were doing the same thing all while raising me and my siblings from 2 separate countries until we all finally settled in the USA. I was the first born in the US and I feel such a strong disconnect with my family, but this film connects with me in a way of my journey trying to navigate my way. Not necessarily back to the Philippines, but to appreciate the family I have rather than ignoring them simply because there’s another opportunity to be somewhere else. To become my own while trying to love my family is a conflict. In short, i highly admire this short film and the actors & actresses in it. I read the signs so early on, and it just hit me even harder when it finally dropped. Absolutely phenomenal ✨ (Edit) rewatching it, the tragedy of his Mother trying to teach her son the lesson of appreciating the world him to the point of waiting beyond death, hits twice as hard. When you notice how Alan’s attitude is towards his Mother and at how he doesn’t try to even call her back. How he impatiently interacts with a local for slippers (idk the currency but he seems to not care about the change) and only shows interest when she shows to be useful to him in giving directions. He doesn’t attempt to speak or learn a bit of the language, or even interact with the culture and the people he’s effectively coming home to for his Mother’s resting place. His character development is truly caught when Ling gives Alan his Mother’s quote about not blindly chasing point to point. It’s sad how if he just happened to not meet Ling, he may have not truly learned to appreciate his Mother, her homeland, or the world as a whole and might have just flown back to KL grieving and incomplete & his mother may have been waiting beyond the grave for who knows how much longer for her son to “come home”. I’m TOTALLY not obsessed with this film…

I finally found time to complete watching this. Thanks, it is meaningful to me. Born in Singapore but from a Malaysian mother, I have visited her hometown and been to where she lived and grew up. At least I have no regrets... But it is serves as a good reminder to me and those of us whose mothers are not born in the same place as us.
