Also worth pointing out if you use this method (nothing wrong with the exploit actually, just need an SD card and a way to format it) you won't have a backup of your Wii NAND. After using these exploits, I would still recommend having an SD card to create a backup of your Wii to keep in case it bricks.

Create the apps folder inside your drive and add whatever homebrew applications/games you would like

@@trendead That didn't work. however I figured out why it didn't work. The flash drive I was using just simply wasn't compatible. luckily I had another one that worked. but in the end, none of the mkwii mods I wanted work without an sd card so I just have get one of those...

It should finish the test within that time if the connection is working, try hard resetting it yes.

You have to keep rebooting and trying it until it works. It took me like 10 tries.
