I forgot a tip you can use…a drywall sponge 🧽 wet it with water and that helps to smooth out the surface of the plaster. It’s a gem

I love all your DYI, how do you make the plaster? What material do you buy? Thanks a lot 🙏 I was planning to do this long time ago and I have already some cardboard cilinder from pringles 😂but I couldn’t find any good tutorials like yours
@HomeByMon2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I'm so happy you like my videos 🥰 And pringles cylinders is just so genius! I usually use plaster of Paris. The ratio for plaster vs water is 1:1. I usually add the water first and then stir in the plaster until I like the consistency ☺

Looks great! Love it. I have only one question: how do you mix you plaster?

does it need sealed to prevent oil stains from food/ spills ? what would you recommend
@SympathyForTheDevil9 Жыл бұрын
Hey there! Would you share a honest review of your table after 1 year of use? Did it hold well or dit it crack / chipped easily? What about the color, did it remain in this nice color or did the color from the table below started to show after a while? I'd love to do this DIY but I want to make sure I'm building something durable :)
@HomeByMon Жыл бұрын
Hi, after a year, I have to say the legs have cracked a bit. However, I don't think this would have happened if I added the mesh tape on them too, as I did for the tabletop. The tabletop is in perfect condition 🙌 Now, for the color, I painted it and sealed it after all, since it ended up having coffee stains on it. So definitely have that in mind, if you want it to be durable, you'll have to at least protect it with a clear coat. I've seen people adding glass on top, which also looks so nice. Hope I helped ☺
@SympathyForTheDevil9 Жыл бұрын
Hey thank you so much! I realized that other people asked already about the finish. Thank you :) @@HomeByMon

How does the plaster hold up to water stains, etc.?
@HomeByMon2 жыл бұрын
It holds well, since I ended up painting it with water resistant acrylic paint. The plaster stained so bad 🥺
