Can we talk about the Otto character? Do I remember of S5. How did the rest of you read the Otto character from that episode alone? He served some purposes: He was the good cop to Saul’s bad cop wrt Carrie in season 5; Gansa got to tease the Nazi history guilt/Syrian refugee sympathizer contrasted with Saul’s Jewishness and Israeli; connections It’s handy to know people with private planes when you want to smuggle a child out of the country; From that episode on, Otto was a middle-aged man with a shitload of money trying to get the ex-spy woman, ''The Drone Queen''. … once again, we know that the finale was written, shot and edited in a rush. And with Quinn being ambiguously semi-dead, Gansa wanted a cliffhanger which raised the question what Carrie will do at this crossroad in her life. I found his little cameo in 6.01 to be interesting and odd. Like, Just a plot device who asked an unexpected, question in 5.12 and then received Carrie's answer, again, apparently, in 6.01? Enter end Season 5 and beginng Season 6... "Later, once the lights are off and the room is illuminated only by the streetlamps outside, he bends her over the bed and fucks her hard, the way she always wants but he usually resists, prefers to see her face instead. He covers her mouth with his hand to muffle her moans, the other hand anchoring her hips, and she bites down on his finger when she cums, her body shuddering somewhere on the border between pain and pleasure, the way she always wants." I think they probably had sex a few times before she figured out what the hell she was doing.

dar adal gives saul a copy of a video that haqqani was holding onto. it seems to be a major plot point in the finale but i'm so confused about the content. was it when saul told the CIA not to exchange the prisoners for him? why would that be so valuable?! It’s the video they made of Saul in S4.E09, before the prisoner exchange. It’s basically proof that Saul was held prisoner by the Taliban. At the time Saul wanted back in the CIA-he wanted to be director again! If that video had been made public, it would totally have derailed not only his bid but any chance he had to do real intelligence work in the CIA again (similarly, everyone freaks out in S4.E01 when an image of Sandy is leaked on the news). It was essentially blackmail. Of course, in the end, Carrie derailed his bid anyway, and for that we continue to stan. have you explored the subject of the many powerful women in Homeland besides Carrie and how are they so often confused by vain, proud, lustful and simply stupid individuals? I'm thinking of Fara, Martha Boyd, Astrid, Elizabeth Keane, Laura Sutton, Allison Carr, Dana, Jessica to name a few ... there may be more. As I look back to the seventh season, I am thinking of President Keane and the frequency with which there is a double standard for dynamic women in power ... not that all / none of these women had their own flaws that put them on the path of challenge and struggle. Now everyone has certainly been underestimated and undermined by people with John Zabel as well. I think the creators of the series didn’t want this to be a theme, now it’s a theme that I picked up anyway. (Ps asking like that why I would love your hot opinion and I hope this is not perceived as unpleasant or inflammatory or stupid !!!) Do I think the writers intended to convey this on purpose? In other words, did the writers intend to convey what is a very true reality for all women? So, I feel that this topic is totally non-controversial and based on facts. The falls of Martha and Allison still hurt especially. Every character in Homeland deserved more, now, again, most women deserve ... Unfortunately.

Dude Carrie cries like 10 times per episode i'm getting tired of her character ! plus now she's a sniper ? give me a break i'm skipping this season not worth it ! Should have made Quinn the main character at least he's stable and interesting.

Giannis Pap I was thinking the same. It's gone way off course and this Euro Bourne identity wanna be plot just isn't interesting. And liberal epitaphs inserted all over, which is just annoying. Hunting big bad dudes in the Middle East was what made the show interesting. Not this shite...

I liked seasons 1-4, but this one was largely CRINGE for me. The German actors are terrible (especially Koch and Fehling), people speak in languages that don't make sense situationally, and the plot has more holes than a Swiss cheese.
