As a person who hates bullies - both real and fictional - I am always praying for more scenes of Homelander v Mr. Edgar - the only person to have complete disregard for Homelander's childish antics. Even though I love how Mr. Edgar gets the better of him psychologically, I need the catharsis of seeing Homelander get utterly wrecked. . In fact, I think a good ass whooping would do wonders for him mentality. Not like as a punishment or anything ( though he certainly warrants punishment) but simply to plant the seed in his head "You ain't all that and like everyone else, you too can get your ass kicked so reign in the crazy a bit and stay in your lane!"

Yes the character was patterned after superman. Because he was raised in a sterile lab lacking love or even human touch (because he was so strong all the researchers were afraid to touch him during his infancy and childhood), he grew to be a psychopath that is ALMOST unstoppable.
