Ya gotta grieve sober. You're going to eventually, anyway. But everyone must learn for themself. I grew up in North Dakota & Wisconsin and have always felt a connection with our Canadian brothers and sisters. Thanks for the content

I agree. Although I would also recommend a big party to celebrate the life of the loved one. Let'er rip! And then, back to reality. Life goes on with or with you. If you don't keep up, it'll pass you by without you knowing it. So, live it up! While you can! Thanks for watching! We are very similar, eh? Lol

Some people cant handle the stress of full time employment. if not for the monthly disability funds i get , I'd either be homeless or dead. Some days I'd rather be dead. I suffer with chronic arthritis , anxiety and post traumatic stress disorder.

Fewer mental health and drugs than you think. Senior citizens are now the fastest-growing group. Drugs often come after months of being like trash being hungry, wet and tired. Open your eyes and talk to them.

I was a 15 yr opiate addict that turned into fent the last 2 yrs of my addiction..I had been working operating heavy equipment for my Dads heavy construction company..It got to the point where he didn't want me working for him..I got on a methadone program that was 2 1/2 yrs then a quick crossover to suboxone for 3 wks to get off the methadone..While on methadone,I managed to pick up out of town,"Im in Winnipeg" camp jobs operating heavy equipment..I needed to prove to myself I could do it on my own, rather than work for family at that time..I been clean now,off that crap for 3 yrs & methadone for 7 months now..Life is so much better now & I am back working for Pops company again..

"Those who want to" is the kicker. I was homeless in the Chicago area back in '91 by circumstances outside of my control during the recession. I met a lot of other homeless folks and what I leaned was that most of them gave up and didn't want to get back into the rat race, but they didn't want to die, so they just existed in misery, begging, stealing, "borrowing" or otherwise living off of the generosity of others. I finally found some work and was able to get back into the rat race, started a business, got married, brought two sons into the rat race. But we're all only one disaster or "suddenly" away from homelessness. Trust in the Lord

Thanks for trying and making the problem known. Its crazy the northern towns have as many homeless as they do. Up in Smithers BC the population has tripled which isn't much but still something. The shelters don't allow drug and alcohol use. These people are seriously mentally ill from eather being born that way or combination of trauma and substance abuse. Unfortunatly a lot of them are unable to make the right decision anymore due to their mental illness. Let's not ignore the majority of them are of indegenous descent. That's the reality. A few generations of trauma and here we are.

Addiction is a horrible life. It's a monster on your back that takes everything from you. Including dignity and self respect. When these folks are living in the cold because they aren't able to live anywhere else due to what the alcohol does to them it's sad and the answers are only available if they want them. No one gets cleaned up unless they actually want it. I mean REALLY want it. Then it's hard to find a way to do it. Learned behavior is extremely hard to change and it's HOPE that is the MOST important thing. I found one way to real HOPE in this life when all you can see is the evil everywhere Including INSIDE YOU! I've been sober for 18 years now and will NEVER go back! But I could NEVER have done it without Christ Jesus!

It's heartbreaking. North Americas greatest shame. It can be found in every city, town and village across this country. It is a manageable crisis and it is cost efficient to do just that. How many hundreds of millions are being wasted on our health care system alone? Our front line emergency personell are inundated with overdoses and exposed to addicts with undiagnosed infectious diseases such as hepatitis or tuberculosis while our emergancy rooms are full of homeless people looking for a safe place to sleep. In order to solve a problem you must first admit you have one and it seems we are still a long way from doing that. Maybe it's a guy like you out there pulling back the curtains and showing how bad it really is. I am looking forward to your next post.

Thanks. You are absolutely right, sir. There are roomers that big cities have been putting these people on busses. Getting them to pick a city from a list and shipping them off. Except these cities they're choosing from are barely big enough to be considered cities and are not used to handling the numbers of these people who need so many resources. I plan on getting to the bottom of it. The crime has increased dramatically over the last 5 years here. It's so bad that we can't leave a car outside the shop overnight without it getting broken into. It's terrible. I have a few ideas I am going to try. We'll see what happens. Thanks for watching.

@@GoldWrenching I am going to follow your journey. I would like to see some social responsibility from these smaller government associations. The problems are not going to be solved by kicking it down the road for another municipality to fund or just looking the other way.. It is going to take a local grass root movement to bring the national attention needed to focus on providing the mental health infrastructure to eliminate this suffering to not only the addicts but their families who worry about them but are just not equipped to deal with the consequences emotionally or financialy. Good luck.

I do what I can for him. I have kids that's why he can't stay with me, don't want them around it. Sent the comment before finishing the video. The halfway might be a good idea bit could also be alota trouble too. My brother was a welder, he was in competitions had reps from nasa and off shore oil rigs watchin him work. He should have alot more then me.. but he chooses the live under a bridge and do dope.

I live in Alberta so the homeless situation isn't as bad here because we didn't legalize fent, we still have lots of homeless folks don't get me wrong. But at least they're not overdosing, small victories. Honestly this country has a terrible history of treating those who cannot or do not want to integrate extremely poorly. It started with small pox blankets, then we had the head tax on the Chinese immigrants who built the railroad. Now we're pumping chemicals into the veins of the broke and destittute.

One must realize they have choices. Choosing to follow through is important, but often the things that continue to derail are physical and mental issues... Having REAL food, that has the proper nutrition, HELPS the mind and body function in amazing ways. I would say, better quality, healthy food, FREE FROM chemicals in fertilizer and pesticides may show a noticeable improvement in brain funcyion. Having better thought clarity, can help one keep focussed on more functional path. Good nutrition also helps physical body function with less pain and some dysfunctions go away entirely. Thinking better Feeling better 2 huge steps, in helping solve some of issues.⚡😎☕

I agree. And I also think that they should have to do a little work to get it. Just like we do. Unless they are unable for good reason. A free ride does nothing for them other than make them dependent upon the system. Which is what's happening now. Even just simple things like chores around the shelter. Something to build up some self-esteem. And getting them used to working for what they have. I think a drop in center would help to get them interested in things other than booze. Teach them to be self-reliant.
