Exactly!!! This is why I don’t help the homeless. I have 2 good friends I grew up with they’re now a alcoholics 1 friend pops up from time to time to ask for money or for a place to stay for a few days when people started telling him no he started sleeping in the streets, he refused to go to a shelter or a halfway home because they don’t allow drinking at the facility he rather sleep on the street and ask for change then get help. Friend number 2 comes from a rich family they told him to get into a program get clean stay clean for 6 months to a year and they’ll get him a condo and pay the rent for a year and buy him a bmw and a job at his dads law office, long story short he’s on the streets begging for change abandoned his daughter and doesn’t care about anything but getting drunk and high

@@mikemiller659 so I'm curious how does someone who is homeless get a job? Say your a hiring manager are you going to hire someone who can't shower, can't be called, and more than likely doesn't have transportation? Sure you can give them methadone and a place to stay but that isn't going to fix all their problems. You also can't force someone to hire them. Have you ever been in hiring? You make it out like they are choosing to just be homeless when 90% of the time thats not the case. How many homeless people have you actually stopped and talked to? Or listen to their story? Judging by you thinking methadone and a place to stay will fix their problems I'm going to say 0 to none

Actually the actors who work hard dont do it to seek attention. they sort of have to do it because its just in them as deep passion. Media advertises them and gossips about them and this makes them seem narcissistic. LA if full of people who want to be actors out of narcissism but that doesnt work out so they go become social media influencers instead. You should go after the influencers. they are the talentless opinionated weirdos making everything about themselves for attentions.

I lived across from the chinese theater for 3 years. It definitely changed a lot during covid. I would walk my dog down the middle of hollywood blvd around 3am and it was much cleaner and safer before covid hit. During covid they stopped power washing the walk of fame and they got hit with a massive influx of homeless. Many were not mentally stable and it became a very dangerous and dirty place. I would only walk my dog during daytime after that and I was still being followed and harassed. During covid, there was no tourists, therefore there was less money handouts as well as less food in the trash cans. The homeless began to get more bold and aggressive. Constant attacks out front and neighbors began carrying knives. Knives became very commonplace in the community. After 6 months into the pandemic and seeing how drastic things changed, I got the hell out of there. I still miss living there from time to time. A lot of great history to embrace every time you walk out your door. Great video! Thank you for showing everyone what its really been like. Keep it up.

Evangelina Valero ---- the film and tv stars don't live in Hollywood, and most of the film and television studios are not in Hollywood, there are some but, the "stars" mostly only care about themselves and even though they talk a good game about being woke, and how sad it is to see all the homeless, while they are doing interviews, or on talk shows, they don't want to help or even look at them on the streets. They drive right by like everyone else does. I'm guilty. I can't afford to give money to every person on every corner holding a sign. But what I do is this. There is a busy Blvd in the neighborhood I grew up in next to LAX airport that all the limos and taxis use to get from the freeway to the airport, it's a shortcut. And the street runs through a residential section and just the backyard back side fences face the Blvd and the City rarely takes care of the overgrown trees on the sidewalks, city property not the homeowners, and the weeds and grass get very tall. A few months ago I noticed someone had been cleaning up all the weeds and trees etc... and there were a dozen garbage bags full. And a few days later there is another small section cleared and the work was progressively moving along the mile or so length of the street. One day about a week later I saw that it was one, white guy, in his 30s or maybe 40s working his ass off and he had put up a sign that I never saw before and it said something like " I'm clearing the overgrowth the city won't do, I'm homeless please donate if you can". I drove around the block, passed the house I grew up in and came back around onto the Blvd and I pulled up, rolled down my window and told him I grew up just on the other side of the street and I see how hard you are working and the street looks so much better and thanked him for doing that work. He thanked me and said he just wanted to have the street look good because so many people drive down here going to or coming from the airport and its such a nice neighborhood, (million dollar homes) that it was a shame the city doesn't care. I had him come closer to my car and I handed him a $100.00 bill and told him I appreciate what he's doing and thanks, take this money, I know it isn't a lot but it's what I can afford right now. I'll give you more in a couple days. He was stoked. He thanked me and said God Bless You. And he went back to work and I gave him more a couple days later. Those are the people who deserve the help and need it. Most of the homeless in this city are lazy losers who don't want to work. Some have mental illnesses, and drug use is rampant, but even drug users can hold jobs, I know firsthand. It's just easier to be a sidewalk camper than to get a job. And when the city doesn't enforce any laws or offers any alternative, people are going to camp for free and be criminals, or beggers, or collect cans and plastic bottles. It used to be homeless people would live for a month or two in hiding and then they would get themselves arrested for anything they can so they would get locked up for 90 or 120 days or 6 months for the free food and bed and safety of jail where its warm and dry. But cops and city lawyers and judges don't do that anymore. They want the paying customer in jail so they make a profit. The homeless cause a loss of money for the system because they aren't paying fines, or paying to go to classes after release, and paying for lawyers etc... It's really a terrible tragedy brought on by bad government and greed of the cities and counties

When I see the real Hollywood through your eyes it deeply saddens me. I have much respect for you for making these videos and making people wake up and see what is really going on in the world. It's something that everyone has been ignoring for way too long and should not be going on in this day and age. If you come up with any ideas let me know I have already messaged people in office in my community and my state. More needs to be done to help homeless people and people with mental illness.

I hate people who claim all homeless people are criminals or addicts. My mother and I became homeless as of April of 2022 we’ve been living together in a van. We have never been addicted to anything or ever committed a crime… all it took was one medical emergency that put me in the hospital for eight days and since I was our sole provider just a few months later and we were homeless. What’s even worse is after my medical emergency I went back to work but it wasn’t enough… my family’s always been poor despite all of us working and working and working towards better. But I worked hard in highschool so I could get a college degree with hardly any debt (approx $3k in debts I didn’t even get to start paying off bc I’d just graduated…) some homeless people self medicate with the wrong substances and lose themselves. And some homeless people are so rightfully angry that they (wrongfully) lash out. I don’t mean to excuse any negative effects on the community the homeless may have. But at the end of the day these are people… other human beings. No one chooses drugs or a blanket on the street over a house. It’s rarely that simple… wishing safety and broad societal change for my fellow homeless

I lived a block south of Hollywood Blvd. in the 80’s and often walked it late at night to get home. Occasionally, I saw a few homeless sleeping in odd places, but nothing like this. It’s painful to see. Truly hurts my heart. There are so many now, and they’re everywhere. It feels like an overwhelming issue, but it’s important to make videos like this to show the reality and size of the problem. My prayers go out to anyone who doesn’t have a bed to call their own.

I do have a family member that suffers from extreme alcoholism and because of that ended up on the streets of Reno NV for 5 years. I was young then and was told he got kicked out of my aunts because he refused to take a daily shower. But, he is off the streets now! My other aunt ( also his sister) bought him his own home in Oklahoma, got him on disability for Schizophrenia and food stamps. He truly can not function in society without help. Also part of his disability pays for his cheap rent, so the house wasn’t put in his name, otherwise he would have already lost it. I sadly am aware not all these homeless come from healthy family dynamics, but abuse, dysfunction, no family at all or a family that no matter what they do to help it’s not enough to help the situation.

At least when they go to Hollywood, there is a glimmer of hope in making it. In Anytown USA, there is often nothing for them but drifting through life and waiting to die. It’s no way to live.

@@tybarker5038 People think California is the promised land but it isn't. California is an illusion. What we do here in California, and we do it well, is produce fantasies. Fantasies are good places to visit, but you can't live in one. The reality is with hard work you can succeed anywhere. Look at Warren Buffet, he lives in Omaha, Nebraska.

I agree. California will eat you up in very little time. We moved away many years ago but still visit family in LA every year. It’s a sad state of affairs there but it’s still home. Best advice to up and coming actors? Don’t go to Hollywood.

GIV, I have been on the HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME so many times, daytime, night time until the wee hours of the night and early AM,. What you have shown here on your video is the sad truth. I love HOLLYWOOD. It has a certain energy about it that I just can't explain to ppl but when night falls, HOLLYWOOD becomes an entirely different world. What contrast in our city. The very affluent and those that are totally down and having such difficulties in life. I don't have any answers. I wish all those ppl could get what it is they need to have a better life. Thanks GIV.😕

One time, when I was young, I stayed overnight on Colorado Blvd in Pasadena so we would have a great location for the Rose Parade on New Year's day. We ate and drank champagne during the night. We slept on cots when we were pooped-out. When we awoke, we were surrounded by people, and literally filthy from the dust from the cars that drove by. The port-potty scene was untenable. I swore "never again." I'll watch the parade on TV from the comfort of my cozy home. My heart goes out to homeless people. I have so much...

I remember when i was homeless in St Paul Minnesota. There was this one time I was sitting in the grass across the streets from the shelter and this younger guy came up to me . Asked if he could sit with me. At first I was thinking he wanted to preach to me but he just sat down and talked with me. He seemed to want to understand homeless people better. If I remember correctly he gave me a bagged meal and another bag with different hygiene supplies. Even a new pair of socks. It might seem like a simple act but I still remember that guy and his kind act. Not only did he give me a little bit of supplies to help me survive. He sat and talked with me for about 30 minutes. It's crazy how sub human people can make the homeless feel. So it was nice to be seen as someone that mattered. Sometimes just talking with a person can cheer them up. I was able to get a RV and get off the streets. Sometimes people slip threw the system that is supposed to help people that get hurt. Sometimes all of our sacrifices feel forgotten about. So it's nice to feel noticed and that I mattered even though I was on hard times.

This is such a shame! Why is the government, the politics and the mayor not helping? The movie studios like Universal, Paramount, Warner and so on mad billions and billions with the movies. Why do they not help? And what about all the famous actors, musicians - stars? They have millions, why do they not help? Los Angeles/Hollywood belong to the most famous places all over the world with many rich people, but homeless people are sleeping on the walk of fame. This just can't be! Something is definitely going wrong in the city of Los Angeles! This has to stop! Having billions to go to wars, but no money for social help. Poor USA, shame on the USA!
