I was just as confused as everyone else, but upon searching about the movie I saw a comment stating, "Although never stated in the film, the behavior of Borgman closely resembles that of an "alp", a nightmare demon from German folklore". An"alp" is a demon sent to bewilder and deceive and is also known for shape-shifting into other animals, such as a dog. Also, the alp, normally male, targets women and children and will normally have 2 female companions that are also "lesser demons". So an interesting take on Germanic folklore that seems like many of us didn't even know existed which is why it was so dang confusing lol. It even has women and children being buried in a garden with their heads in buckets to further explain the bizarre demonic antics of this entity. It's interesting to learn about other cultures. Still confused about what he will do with the kids. Probably take them out in some weird way as well.

Left to the critics they will connect the meaning of this movie to anything from quantum physics to evolution to economics. But the movie is just dumb. Imagine this movie made with actors from a developing country. Then lets see the critics say anything good. A movie made by a very privileged group of LAZY people who couldnt bother to keep a story's structure reasonably clear.
