Such a powerful story! John’s journey shows how much veterans sacrifice and how important it is to support them. Glad he finally got the recognition he deserves!

No Vet should be homeless and i mean No Veteran . We need to fix this now . Our Government Needs to help Americans First . I would help but i'm on S.S. and can barely help myself right now .

The civilian population doesn’t have any idea what veterans go through in war time. The true feeling of protecting your brothers in the conflict is greater than their own lives. Veterans stick together when the time really matters. Thank you to ALL VETERANS PAST AND PRESENT, from another veteran. MayGod be in your life.

If the VA provided quality support, we wouldn’t need the DAV, Wounded Warrior project etc…. The government should be supporting us veterans instead of voting themselves a raise when threatening government closure

Exactly.when i came back from vietnam,in a hooch before we got on a plane leaving DaNang,we were told ,you are veterans now and read off a list of things we could get from the VA after discharge, even though I still had about a year and a half b4 my 4 year enlistment was up in the USMC.Apparently it all changed and now they say your injury is not service related.Agent Orange and then the Camp Lejeune contaminated water case.

We have way too many homeless veterans on our streets . None of our true heroes should ever be homeless.

True, but the White House is spending the money needed for the homeless vets is being spent on illegal aliens

As an old solider once stated winning medals in combat is a lottery. Every solider is a hero they don't need a CMOH or Victoria Cross to prove that. As such should all be treated with as much respect for putting themselves in harm's way regardless

The story itself may or may not be true but it speaks of good soldiers who need to be cared for by those who sent them to war.

Being a Veteran and being an immigrant is not mutually exclusive. Consider the great welcome Vietnam vets received from Americans at the Army DEROS in Oakland, CA, in 1969 and the early seventies-a story well articulated by the narrator.

As I rember when the vietnam vets returned they wer viewed as failure not worthy of respect in fact whenni studied electronics som Vietnam Nam vets took the same class and we talked most of them wer not well received so wher did you get the impression they wer honored did you know that the polliticans kept telling every one the vietnam war was an police action from talking with the veterans I looked like a war to them and not a police action 😮

Nice story but in reality all that stuff isn’t any police arrest reports. It’s just what happened as why the person is arrested. No way a police officer would know the history of a veteran that was arrested.

If you’re going to dress like a former soldier, you might want to have actual dog tags and correct patches (only one flag) and last name on your jacket, not your first name 😉
