Never heard this song before very unique and all the little step things back and sounds and Loudon Wainwright classic brilliance makes this very interesting to watch and laugh in spots. This is not his best song but he is one of our national national treasures.

I was and am a huge Loudo fan. I kept a special VHS tape and set it up and recorded all his songs from this show. I treasured it for many years until one of the kids taped over it. Now I can relive them all in you tube. Also got to see him live on 5 occasions. Most underrated singer songwriter of my generation. Still that keeps his ticket price down.😀

I am SO pleased for this comment. I have all the eight songs, so must post more of them, not sure how many I have up there. I was from Belfast but never taped them live, was out in bars like Robinson on Sat Nites lol. But someone on the Loudon network gave me them later.

homelessbrother . I’ll look forward to that. I have about 12 LW111 albums and now listen to all of his stuff on Spotify. I’m from Belfast too and got to see him last year when he did a concert in town.

This is one of the few things on KZbin that makes me laugh out loud every time I watch it. (And, sadly, I could dedicate it to a few of my friends.)

I liked old Loudo better than I liked Jasper. even though it cost me a long time to work out Loudon's name. I'm still buying CDs from the whole Wainwright-McGarrigle clan. Thanks for posting this trip down memory lane

Love you putting All the loud in stuff out first sings I learned how to play guitar on we’re attempted mustache - got a lot of mileage out of playing ‘ down drinking at the bar’ in the bars of Wisconsin in the 70’s such a simple funny genius and poignant as hell at times ( man who could cry, ono not John )

Every once in a while, he almost looks like a Happy Days era Ron Howard...

I'd never heard this song. Classic Loudon. The real question - are any of these George's and Susan's still together? I'd read that Loudon would sometimes vanish to London. For months, years? Drinking and carousing. He was never much of a family man. I suspect the guy next to him at the bar was his real family?
