Great video series, I watched all four. I went through that hell with a Stihl chainsaw a few years back, But it was a $400 saw...still a pain in the butt!

I have the same saw UT10564, with toolless chain cover. I cleaned carburetor, replaced fuel lines, but it wouldn't start. Maybe the compression is too low. I remove the muffler, the piston is clean and not scored. I wonder if I can get by just replacing piston rings.

Can you explain this? When looking up parts for the homelite 4218c. Model UT10589. The parts for the 10549 a 35 cc, the 10569 a 38 cc and the 10589 a 42 cc are listed with the same parts. The piston/cylinder/crank with rod assembly are all the same for these models! How do they achieve the CC difference using the same parts?

Where did you buy your parts?

I do not remember. There are a variety of online retailers.

I found that parts at www.jackssmallengines.com are half the cost of US based sellers and there shipping charges are less than most. I looked into farmertec.com and found that there prices for aftermarket are really cheap but the shipping charges make it more than at jacks.
