Great modifications for the swinging action. I would suggest that if you could move the Hitch connection portion of the rack that is from the receiver of the vehicle, to the opposite side of the vehicle, (right hand side), that the hinge is on, you would have a perfect unit and much more marketable. As you would be able to still utilize the receiver for small trailers and be able to lock/secure, the swinging rack at the opposite side (right side) of the vehicle. This would give you your swing away action , permit you to access the tail gate of the vehicle and have everything you already do with the added value of still being able to use the hitch receiver for towing Very good idea, patent it ASAP and let me know when you manufacture for marketing , I'll be a client!

Nice work mate. At first I couldn't work out how it worked with only one clamp, until you showed it sandwiching the peg. How do you think this setup would work with pivot pegs? ...not that it's an issue for you. I'm thinking your clamp design could also be adapted to work in a ute or trailer. Btw, your hitch mounted tyre changer is still serving me well.

Cheers mate, I’m stoked the changer is doing its job. I made a couple of new pieces to make it work on the ground, it really adds a lot of utility to it, I’ll be making it available soon with an attachment for 40mm hitch receivers included as well for $50 including postage. I’m certain it would work with pivot pegs as once it’s clamped the peg can’t pivot anymore. I agree having this clamping system for other applications would be a cool idea. Not only does it not load suspension or mousse tubes, but it’s quicker as well. When I finish a ride I load my bike and fasten it before I even take my helmet off, I love the setup.

I've been tooling around with peg fixing points in the trailer for a while bit nothing working easy enought I make it worthwhile. THIS!!!!! What are the latches called?

They are called “over-centre latches” I used extra heavy duty ones more so to look strong and because the lighter versions are stamped not cast, making the handles less nice on your hands. It’s definitely over-kill though.

@@ian9toes it's brilliant. I hate tie downs, turnbuckles are a pain and cinch straps can be hard to pull down from low. I've got a tube inside tube set up but there's a bolt thing thru a plate sandwiching it.. Not happy with it. I'm buying gas for the welder and gonna try something like this.

With thousands of km’s on the system so far, this is pretty good evidence that a 2nd peg attachment is a complete waste of time. My whole design philosophy was to make something as convenient as possible and good enough to hold it on. Good enough is good enough. My email is [e-mail]
