Hi, this is so cool and I’m exploring bioplastics for my class right now. I was wondering if you dehydrate the mixture right away or wait for it to set and then dehydrate it?

Thanks :) It seems like the result is the same either way.

@@giestas I did a test with letting it set first and then putting it in to dehydrate and it looks like it just ended up melting down back to a liquid anyways so there is no need to set it beforehand.

@@ImaUnicorn exactly! the only advantage is that it's easier to move it around once it's set.

I’m currently making a project with the gelatin material and I have an idea to use these to make seed packets that can be entirely planted on their own which will reduce waste from paper used for seed packets. :)

we are currently working on a research project and came across your content today. we couldn't find a related study that produced homemade bioplastic bags. they always used machines on doing their bags. anyway, i wanted to ask if it's possible to use the heat seal in a bioplastic made out of sweet potato starch?

I haven't tried sweet potato starch, so I can't say. I tried potato starch and it doesn't seem to behave like the gelatin one...

Mine is also a bit sticky, but I find it helps the assembly process. If it's too much, try assembling right after dehydration.

It's melt in hot water. But is it water proof like plastic or it's melt in normal water? Is it good to carry anything in rain?

It's difficult to test that, since it involves a lot of waiting. But the oil packet lasts for a surprisingly long time.

I need a clarification gelatin flim its only maintain the shape in cold temperature but in room temperature gelatin becomes watery solution what can i do with that,can you please tell how your gelatin flim is stable in room temperature 🤞

You can't taste the gelatin really. It's good compared to commercial instant noodles, compared to proper ramen, it is what it is :)
